Aims and Scope

Bangladesh in situated on the north of Bay of Bengal. Climatically it is a humid subtropical country. Most of the land is deltaic plain of two great rivers, the Ganges and the Bhrammaputra and it tributaries. The country has rich diversity of plants. Main crops cultivated are Rice, Jute, Wheat, Maize, Sugarcane, Mustard and different kinds of Lentils. There are a good number of Public and Private Universities and Plant Research Establishments.

Bangladesh Journal of Botany is the official organ of the Bangladesh Botanical Society established in 1972. Since 1972 Bangladesh Journal of Botany is being published regularly. Two issues of the Journal are published, one in June and another in December.

Scientific papers (Full paper and short communication) on any field of Plant Sciences from anywhere in the World are considered for publication in Bangladesh Journal of Botany.

It is submitted through email, and there is no system to follow up on the progress after submission. You can only wait for the editor to send you an email. However, this journal has a slow response time, so you need to be patient. Generally, most articles are accepted, but the number of published articles per year is relatively small (around 70). The publication fee is around one thousand yuan. If it is your first attempt to submit to SCI, you can try submitting a small article to practice. The impact factor is trending upward, and the reviewers still value the articles. I also submitted an article this year. Initially, it received minor revisions, but due to some unreliable experiments, I decided to withdraw it and plan to supplement the experiments and resubmit. I hope this can help you. Good luck!

Repeated inquiries were necessary to receive a response during the external review process. The manuscript review was exceptionally slow, as it has been over a year since submission without receiving any revision suggestions. Despite sending multiple emails for consultation, no response was given. The journal lacks a submission system, making it impossible to track the status of the manuscript. Whether emails are replied to or not depends solely on the mood of the editorial board.
