Aims and Scope
Plant & Cell Physiology (PCP) was established in 1959 and is the official journal of the Japanese Society of Plant Physiologists (JSPP). The title reflects the journal's original interest and scope to encompass research not just at the whole-organism level but also at the cellular and subcellular levels.

Amongst the broad range of topics covered by this international journal, readers will find the very best original research on plant physiology, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular genetics, epigenetics, biotechnology, bioinformatics and –omics; as well as how plants respond to and interact with their environment (abiotic and biotic factors), and the biology of photosynthetic microorganisms.

Photosynthesis direction. The first submission was sent for review the next day, and after a month, the reviewer's comments came back. After two minor revisions, it was accepted directly. From the first submission to acceptance, it took a total of three months. Overall, the speed is considered average. In terms of difficulty, PCP is still relatively challenging. Journals organized by Japanese researchers do not require the work to be particularly innovative, but it must be detailed and comprehensive. When submitting for review, it is highly likely to be reviewed by Japanese professors, who are known for their thoroughness. Therefore, it is not recommended to submit incomplete work here. However, it is said that if it is rejected, the process is usually fast, so it will not delay submitting to other journals.
