Summary: IntroductionNonobstructive azoospermia (NOA) is a common and severe form of male infertility. Microdissection testicular sperm extraction (microTESE) combined with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is an optimal treatment for men with NOA. However, the outcomes and affecting factors of ICSI for NOA patients with different etiologies receiving microTESE treatment are still unclear.

Summary: Micro-TESE combined with ICSI-IVF can achieve favorable clinical outcomes for NOA patients. AZFc microdeletions are an important cause of poor embryological and clinical outcomes in NOA patients.

Summary: Thin endometrium is associated with impaired pregnancy outcomes and increased risk of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and small-for-gestational-age infants, while thick endometrium does not have an adverse effect on IVF outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to analyze if bull spermatozoa could be selected by thermotaxis and to assess their quality in terms of SDF as well as determine the presence of a specific sperm subpopulation based on sperm morphometry and assess their fertilizing capacity by ICSI. The results showed that thermotactic sperm selection led to higher DNA integrity, small and elongated head size parameters, and a different sperm subpopulation structure.

Summary: This retrospective multicentre observational study aimed to investigate the impact of magnetic-activated cell sorting (MACS) on clinical parameters and cumulative live birth rates (CLBR) in couples undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) with donor oocytes. The study found that the MACS group had a slightly higher CLBR per embryo transferred compared to the reference group, but this difference was not clinically significant. Therefore, the indiscriminate recommendation of MACS as a sperm processing add-on for all infertile patients undergoing ICSI with donated oocytes is not suggested.

Summary: The study concludes that non-apoptotic sperm selection through MACS on unselected males prior to ICSI with autologous oocytes has limited clinical impact, with only a subtle increase in cumulative live birth rates per embryo transferred.

Summary: The study found that IMSI and ICSI resulted in embryos with similar morphokinetics, but IMSI had a lower incidence of multinucleation compared to ICSI. However, neither method showed an improvement in the proportion of chromosomally euploid embryos.

Summary: Retrieving spermatozoa from the testicles has been a great hope for patients with non-obstructive azoospermia (NOA), but relevant methods have not yet been developed to provide resolutions for all cases of NOA. In vitro selection and processing of quality sperm are essential for the success of in vitro fertilization. Sperm cryopreservation is widely used in assisted reproductive technologies, even for preserving very small numbers of sperm with advanced freezing and preserving techniques.

Summary: This study explores the effects of different methods of obtaining sperm for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) cycles on the live birth rate (LBR) and neonatal outcomes. The results show that the surgically acquired sperm group had higher clinical pregnancy rates and LBR compared to the ejaculated sperm group. However, there were no significant differences in neonatal outcomes between the two groups.

Summary: In patients with abnormal SDF undergoing ICSI treatment, the PICSI group showed the highest pregnancy rate while the DGC group had the lowest. The PICSI group also had a significantly higher implantation rate than the other groups, with the MACS and DGC groups performing better in terms of high-quality blastocyst rates.

Summary: In assisted reproductive technology (ART), the selection of sperm cells is crucial for fertilization potential, with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) being the most widely used technique. Various methods have been developed to mimic natural selection processes, but doubts and disagreements on the most effective technique remain.

Summary: This study demonstrates that the number of previous embryo implantation failures is an independent factor that affects the implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, spontaneous abortion rate, and live birth rate of patients undergoing IVF/ICSI-ET. As the number of previous embryo implantation failures increases, the implantation rate, clinical pregnancy rate, and live birth rate of IVF/ICSI-ET patients significantly decrease, while the rate of early spontaneous abortion gradually increases.
