Summary: B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is a common cancer in children in Saudi Arabia. This study evaluated the reliability of using fixed samples to accurately diagnose aneuploidy in B-ALL patients. The results showed a strong correlation between the DNA index obtained by flow cytometry and conventional cytogenetic analysis, highlighting the usefulness of the DNA index method in complementing the diagnosis of aneuploidy in B-ALL patients.

Summary: The majority of gastric intestinal metaplasia samples lack the aneuploidy that characterizes gastric dysplasia or cancer. Presence of gastric intestinal metaplasia alone may not be sufficient to indicate an increased risk for gastric cancer, and other high-risk features should be considered.

Summary: Yam is a herbaceous vine plant cultivated in the tropics and subtropics, with 11 cultivated species supporting over 300 million people. The study investigated the ploidy levels of 236 accessions, finding that most cultivars were diploid, triploid, or tetraploid, with wild species being diploid. Matching results were obtained from chromosome counting and genotyping-based methods, suggesting potential for successful breeding programs.

Summary: Analysis of non-conventional morphological patterns of epithelial dysplasia in IBD patients revealed a higher malignant potential and aneuploidy rate compared to conventional dysplasia, especially in CCD, hypermucinous, and GCD variants. These lesions often present as flat/invisible, suggesting a need for more intensive follow-up and treatment.

Summary: The study compared the clinical and pathologic characteristics of women with surgica stage I endometrial carcinoma and found that isolated vaginal recurrences can be detected earlier than non-vaginal recurrences, and the surgical approach does not appear to impact recurrence. Adjuvant vaginal brachytherapy carries a 1%-2% risk of isolated vaginal apex recurrence after primary surgery.

Summary: The study found that the induction of DH individuals in Brassica napus is related to the genetic characteristics and aneuploidy of the parents, as well as the key gene regulation. Flow cytometry and SNP genotyping analysis showed differences between homozygotes and heterozygotes in the F-1 generation. Aneuploidy from allo-octoploid segregation did not significantly increase the DH induction rate, but reduced male infiltration rate and heterozygous site rate of induced F-1 generation.

Summary: In this study, we evaluated the prognostic value of chromatin structure in early-stage lung cancer patients. We found that non-diploid DNA status and the combination of ploidy and nucleotyping can predict long-term outcomes. Patients with non-diploidy and chromatin homogenous status may benefit from adjuvant therapy.

Summary: This study investigates the effect of various chemical and thermal treatments on regeneration efficiency and ploidy level in chrysanthemum. The results show that ovaries have a greater organogenic potential and manipulating factors such as temperature and thidiazuron concentration can enhance regeneration efficiency and induce altered ploidy levels.

Summary: Fundic gland polyps (FGPs) can develop as a result of genetic factors or after proton pump inhibitor therapy. FGPs with dysplasia are similar to familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and often have APC mutations. However, FGPs rarely progress to advanced gastric neoplasia, indicating a limited role in gastric tumorigenesis.

Summary: The study found that the incidence of medical inoperability in clinical stage I endometrial cancer was 4.6%, with factors such as high body mass index, diabetes, coronary artery disease, and hypertension increasing the risk of inoperability. Despite maximal surgical effort and minimally invasive surgery achieving hysterectomy in over 95% of patients, there was a complication rate of 11.6%.

Summary: Vaginal brachytherapy has become the treatment of choice for high-intermediate risk patients with early-stage endometrial cancer, providing maximal local tumor control and minimal side effects. An integrated risk stratification combining clinicopathologic and molecular factors is now being investigated to guide adjuvant therapy.

Summary: This study investigated the frequency of mismatch repair deficiency/high microsatellite instability (MMRd/MSI-H) in gynecologic malignancies and the efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in patients with recurrent gynecologic cancers. The results showed that MMRd/MSI-H is moderately to highly frequent in gynecologic cancers in the Korean population, and MMRd/MSI-H could be effective predictive biomarkers in gynecologic cancers of any type.

Summary: To support genome-based precision medicine, machine learning models were developed to predict gynecologic cancer recurrence in patients using immune checkpoint inhibitors based on Lynch syndrome-related screening markers. Following data review and variable identification, the RF-based model showed the best performance in predicting cancer recurrence, with AUCs of 0.818 and 0.826 for different cross-validation methods. This study provides novel insights into predicting gynecologic cancer recurrence in patients using immune checkpoint inhibitors through machine learning methods.

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence and relative contributions of Lynch Syndrome (LS) and non-LS mutations in Korean patients with endometrial cancer. By analyzing the medical records of 204 patients, it was found that 13% of patients had LS, and patients with LS were more likely to be younger at diagnosis and meet the Amsterdam II criteria. The study also identified a higher prevalence of non-endometrioid histology in patients with MSH6 or PMS2 mutations.
