Summary: This study analyzed serum samples from endometrial cancer patients and benign gynecology surgical patients using electron spray ionization mass spectrometry (ES-MS), and evaluated the differences in serum proteins through leave one out cross validation (LOOCV). The study found that serum proteins could distinguish between different groups and predict positive lymph node metastases. Pathways related to metastases include loss of PTEN activation, calcium signaling activation, and estrogen receptor-induced transcription. These findings provide new insights for treatment decisions in endometrial cancer.

Summary: Metastases to supraclavicular lymph nodes have a significant impact on the prognosis of patients with cervical esophageal cancer. These lymph nodes may be considered extra-regional in this patient population.

Summary: The study aims to investigate the patterns of lymph node metastasis of endometrial cancer and provide guidance for personalized clinical target volume delineations. The results show that deep myometrial invasion, histological type, histological differentiation, and lymphovascular space invasion are related to pelvic lymph node metastasis.

Summary: Lymph node status plays an important role in predicting prognosis and guiding treatment in endometrial cancer. Sentinel lymph node biopsy has emerged as an acceptable alternative to full lymphadenectomy, with high detection rate and reduced surgical morbidity.

Summary: This study aimed to discuss the underlying oncological issues in staging of mediastinal lymph node metastasis in patients with left lung cancer who underwent extended radical lymphadenectomy. The results showed that cN status and adjuvant chemotherapy were significant prognostic factors for left lung cancer with mediastinal lymph node metastasis, rather than pN status. These findings broaden the discussion of oncological issues in the staging of mediastinal lymph node metastasis of left lung cancer.

Summary: This study evaluated the long-term outcomes and prognostic factors of gastrectomy with D2 and paraaortic lymph node dissection (PAND) for patients with locally advanced gastric cancer. The results showed that neoadjuvant chemotherapy and the number of metastatic paraaortic lymph nodes on preoperative imaging were independently associated with relapse-free survival.

Summary: The study evaluated the initial results of predicting lymph node metastasis in rectal cancer patients using USPIO-enhanced MRI at 3 T. High-resolution MRI visualized a large number of mesorectal lymph nodes, but USPIO-enhanced MRI was not accurate in differentiating small benign from small tumoral lymph nodes in rectal cancer patients. Suspicious nodes on in-vivo MRI were found to be both inflammatory and metastatic nodes.

Summary: Comparing the prognostic predictive performance of six lymph node staging schemes in node-positive endometrioid endometrial cancer patients, it was found that lymph node ratio (LNR) and log odds of positive lymph nodes (LODDS) had better predictive performance for prognosis assessment than other number-based lymph node schemes, suggesting that LNR and LODDS may be more useful in prognosis assessment for these patients than the AJCC N stage.

Summary: In patients with endometrial cancer, there was no significant difference in overall survival between those who underwent sentinel node biopsy alone, sentinel node biopsy followed by lymphadenectomy, or lymphadenectomy alone. This observation held true regardless of lymph node status, histotype, and extent of lymphadenectomy.

Summary: The study found that F-18-DCFPyL PET/CT has high specificity but limited sensitivity for detecting pelvic lymph-node metastases in primary prostate cancer patients. Therefore, current PSMA PET/CT imaging cannot fully replace diagnostic ePLND. Further research is needed to determine the exact role of PSMA PET/CT imaging in the primary staging of prostate cancer.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the optimal positive lymph node cutoff value for predicting survival outcomes in patients with iCCA and establish a prognostic nomogram. The results showed that patients with 1-3 positive lymph nodes had significantly better overall survival compared to those with more than 4 positive lymph nodes. This study provides new evidence for more precise post-operative management of iCCA patients.

Summary: Sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy is emerging as an alternative staging approach for early-stage endometrial carcinoma, introducing precision medicine to surgical management of gynecologic cancers. While recognized in Europe and the USA, ongoing debate surrounds its role in low-risk and high-risk patients, with uncertainties regarding the significance of low-volume metastasis and lack of standardized protocols for SLN evaluation.

Summary: The prevalence of ERBB2 gene amplification was investigated among patients with gynecologic malignancies. The study found that ERBB2 amplification is frequently encountered in uterine serous carcinoma and mucinous ovarian carcinoma, but less common in endometrioid endometrial carcinoma.
