Summary: This study is the first in German-speaking countries to report on the interdisciplinary management approach of ultrasound-guided HIFU for uterine fibroids. The results suggest that multidisciplinary management is crucial for optimizing safety and outcomes of HIFU treatment, especially in peri-procedural pain and temperature management.

Summary: This study compared the clinical efficacy of high-intensity focused ultrasound ablation (HIFU) and uterine artery embolization (UAE) in the management of cervical pregnancy (CP). The results showed that HIFU treatment was associated with shorter interval time, hospitalization duration, recovery time of menstruation, and fewer adverse reactions and postoperative complications compared to UAE.

Summary: An MRI-based classification system can be used to predict the outcomes of focused ultrasound ablation surgery in patients with adenomyosis. Among the different classifications, C2 is associated with symptom relief and recurrence, with the extrinsic subtype of C2 showing a more significant association and shorter recurrence time.

Summary: This study investigated the factors affecting the efficacy of ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablation for adenomyosis with abnormal uterine bleeding. The results showed that baseline CA125 levels and the ablation rate of the endometrial-myometrial junction and surface area of the ablated part of the EMJ were associated with treatment outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness, feasibility, and acceptability of microwave ablation (MWA) compared to uterine artery embolization (UAE) for treating uterine fibroids. The results showed no significant difference in volume reduction between MWA and UAE, but the MWA group had shorter hospitalization days and sick leave. Therefore, MWA shows promise as a treatment for uterine fibroids.

Summary: Transcervical, ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation with the Sonata System was successfully used to treat a patient with symptomatic localized adenomyosis. Six-month follow-up showed subjective improvement in menstrual bleeding and pain, as well as objective reduction in the size of the adenomyosis lesion (66.3%) and uterine corpus (40.8%) as determined by MRI.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the dose and effectiveness of ultrasound-guided high-intensity focused ultrasound (USgHIFU) ablation of uterine fibroids with different sizes and explore the effect of uterine fibroid size on dose, providing dose evaluation for clinicians. Results showed that a single-session HIFU ablation for uterine fibroids of 3-11 cm can achieve an NPVR of more than 80%. EEF decreased with increasing size of uterine fibroids, with 6.5 cm considered a clinically meaningful point affecting EEF.

Summary: This study found that MR-HIFU treatment has no adverse impact on ovarian reserve in premenopausal women with uterine fibroids or adenomyosis. The location of the fibroid and the treatment energy also had no effect on the change of Anti-Mullerian hormone levels.

Summary: This study evaluated the risk of recurrence and reintervention after uterine-sparing treatment options for symptomatic adenomyosis. The results showed that uterine-sparing techniques had low reintervention rates, while uterine artery embolization had higher recurrence and reintervention rates compared to other techniques.

Summary: The objective of this study was to develop a nomogram that can predict the long-term outcomes of uterine artery embolisation (UAE) for treating adenomyosis. Through multivariate logistic regression analysis and external validation using a validation set, predictive factors were identified and a high-performing nomogram was created. This nomogram can accurately predict the outcome of UAE and aid in selecting suitable candidates for the treatment.

Summary: In the treatment of uterine fibroids, UAE has the highest quality of life improvement (1-year follow-up) compared to surgery and HIFU. Network meta-analysis shows that HIFU patients have the lowest incidence of major complications within 1 year, followed by UAE, and the highest in surgery. Patients treated with HIFU and UAE have shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery time compared to surgery.

Summary: This systematic review analyzed the effectiveness and complications of Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) and Magnetic Resonance guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (MRgHIFU) for uterine leiomyoma. The results showed that UAE had a significantly higher percentage of fibroid volume shrinkage than MRgHIFU at 6, 12, and 24 months follow-up, but had more complications.

Summary: The most important factors affecting the ablative efficiency of USgHIFU treatment for uterine fibroids with NPVR >= 80% are the signal intensity on T2WI, followed by the enhancement type on T1WI, uterine anteroposterior, and platelet count.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the relationship between preoperative CA125 levels and symptom recurrence in adenomyosis after FUAS. The study found that preoperative CA125 levels were associated with symptom recurrence, and levels higher than 35 U/ml may indicate earlier recurrence of symptoms.
