Summary: Copper nitrite reductases convert nitrite ions to nitric oxide and nitrous oxide at high levels of nitrogen oxide flux. The assembly of nitric oxide at a single copper site to form copper cis-hyponitrites has been demonstrated in the presence of an external reductant. Furthermore, the removal of a fraction of the structure in the copper cis-hyponitrite complex can be achieved by adding specific reagents, resulting in the formation of a spectroscopically similar anion. These studies provide insights into the reductive coupling of nitrogen oxides at a single copper center and the utilization of the strong oxidizing power of nitrite.

Summary: The self-assembly of tetrahedral building blocks and iron(II) ions resulted in a series of heterobimetallic Hg-II-Fe-II coordination polymers with diverse structural and magnetic properties. The nature of the bridging organic ligands plays a crucial role in determining the structural features of the products.

Summary: We synthesized and characterized a series of heterometallic rings using alkylammonium or imidazolium cations as templates. The structure of these rings can be controlled by the template and the coordination geometry preference of each metal, resulting in rings with eight, nine, ten, twelve, and fourteen metals. The compounds were analyzed using various techniques, including X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, magnetometry, and EPR measurements. The magnetic measurements showed antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between the metal centers, while the EPR spectroscopy revealed different ground and excited states for different ring structures. These findings provide insights into the transferability of magnetic parameters among related compounds.

Summary: ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters are responsible for transporting various substances across biological membranes. The transition between inward-facing (IF) and outward-facing (OF) conformations of transmembrane domains (TMDs) is crucial for the transport process. This study investigated the functional role of asymmetric nucleotide-binding sites (NBSs) in ABC transporters using pulsed electron-electron double-resonance spectroscopy. The results showed that ATP hydrolysis at the consensus NBS accelerates the reverse transition, and the degenerate NBS may regulate the kinetics of this process.

Summary: Mixed ligand complexes of Pd(II) and Cd(II) with N-picolyl-amine dithiocarbamate (PAC-dtc) as primary ligand and tertiary phosphine ligand as secondary ligands have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes showed significant antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. DFT calculations were performed to investigate the quantum parameters of three complexes and their geometries were optimized.

Summary: This study synthesized seven picolylamine dithiocarbamate complexes of M(II) ions (CoII, NiII, CuII, PdII, ZnII, CdII, and HgII) and investigated their structural geometries and properties. The complexes showed a square planar or tetrahedral geometry formed by the coordination of the dithiocarbamate ligand through sulfur atoms. Surface structural analysis revealed nano-pattern properties, such as a nano-flower pattern in Cd(II) and Hg(II) complexes. The complexes exhibited remarkable antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

Summary: In this study, the transformation mechanism of complex 1 in different solvents was investigated, revealing that the solvent significantly affects its stability. It was also found that complex 1 reacts with glutathione to form a new binuclear DNIC, which has implications for its metabolism and anti-tumor activity.

Summary: This study reports the unexpected formation of two products, a dimeric technetium(I) complex [{Tc(NO)(L-OMe)(PPh3)Cl}(2)Ag](PF6) containing a central Ag+ ion, and a cationic Tc(II) compound [Tc(NO)(L-OMe)(PPh3)Cl](PF6), when [Tc-I(NO)(L-OMe)(PPh3)Cl] reacts with Ag(PF6). The products were characterized by spectroscopic and X-ray diffraction analysis.

Summary: High pressure is a key parameter controlling chemical reaction kinetics, and combining high-pressure techniques with time-resolved spectroscopy provides a powerful tool for studying reaction mechanisms. This review focuses on the supporting role of high-pressure kinetic and spectroscopic methods in exploring nitric oxide bioinorganic chemistry, highlighting the importance of understanding interactions between nitric oxide and other reactive nitrogen species with biological targets.

Summary: Dithiocarbamates have the potential to provide stable transition metal complexes for developing new drugs. The novel gold(III) complex, along with palladium(II) and zinc(II) complexes, showed good affinity in DNA binding and BSA quenching studies, with the palladium(II) complex exhibiting a stronger affinity in DNA binding compared to the zinc(II) complex.
