Both Ras and Nox represent ancient gene families which control a broad range of cellular responses. Both families mediate signals governing motility. differentiation, and proliferation, and both inhabit overlapping subcellular microdomains. Yet little is known of the precise functional relationship between these two ubiquitous families. In this review. we examine the interface where these two large fields meet. (C) 2009 Elsevier Inc.
