Summary: This systematic review analyzes the rates of identification of anogenital injury (AGI) in women following sexual assault compared to consensual sexual intercourse. The review found that AGI was significantly more likely to be detected after sexual assault than consensual sexual intercourse. However, it is worth noting that more than half of sexual assault survivors did not have detectable injuries, highlighting the importance of recognizing that the absence of injury does not necessarily refute the occurrence of sexual assault.

Summary: This study aims to test the effects of acute alcohol intoxication and alcohol expectancy on women's accurate memory of consensual and non-consensual sexual activities that occurred in an interactive hypothetical dating scenario. The findings suggest that participants who expected to consume alcohol remembered the behaviors during the rape more accurately. This study is important for forensic investigations and medical examinations in cases of sexual assault.

Summary: This case report highlights a rare instance of a non-pregnant woman who died due to air embolism caused by vaginal laceration during consensual sexual intercourse, with hysterectomy and preexisting vaginal injury as additional risk factors. Histological examination and postmortem computer tomography (PMCT) were essential in diagnosing the cause of death and underlying pathophysiological mechanisms.

Summary: This study compared the frequency and types of anogenital trauma in rape victims based on the time interval between the assault and recent consensual sexual intercourse. The results showed that there were no significant differences in anogenital injuries among patients with different time intervals, suggesting that the timing of consensual intercourse before a forensic exam did not impact the occurrence of anogenital trauma.

Summary: Rectovaginal fistulas are rare genital lesions, often caused by obstetric reasons, and sometimes as a consequence of sexual intercourse. Factors such as trauma, sexual behavior, medical history, and treatment options can all impact the occurrence and management of this condition, as mentioned in the case report.

Summary: The presence of external genital tears significantly increased the odds of non-consensual intercourse, while anal tears, swelling, ecchymosis, and anal penetration were markers for non-consensual intercourse. Overall, these findings support the importance of assessing genital-anal injuries in cases of sexual assault to differentiate between consensual and non-consensual intercourse.

Summary: This study focuses on the experiences of sexual violence among married adolescent girls in the Shinyanga Region, Tanzania. The findings reveal that these girls face forced sex, rape, struggle against unpleasant and painful sex, and are pressured to tolerate sexual violence. It emphasizes the importance of addressing sexual coercion faced by married adolescent girls to prevent negative health outcomes such as sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancies.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate justifications for stealthing, the act of nonconsensual condom removal in previously consented intercourse. After experimentally manipulating different justifications for stealthing, significant differences were found in terms of rape determination, but not in other criminality measures.

Summary: A survey in Hamburg, Germany, investigated the observation of vaginal injuries after CSI among office-based gynecologists, finding that a majority of doctors have observed such injuries, including those requiring surgical care and hospitalization. These findings are highly relevant for forensic evaluations in cases of sexual assault.

Summary: Two women returning to Vietnam from the United Arab Emirates were diagnosed with monkeypox viruses belonging to an emerging sublineage, A.2.1, distinct from B.1 that is responsible for the ongoing multicountry outbreak. Women could potentially contribute to the transmission of monkeypox, calling for enhanced genomic surveillance to understand pathogen evolution.

Summary: Raising awareness about sexual violence and its impact is crucial for changing the current situation in Japan. This article utilizes both quantitative and qualitative data to shed light on the reality of sexual violence and victimization, which has been overlooked and ignored in Japanese society. While raising awareness is necessary, it is also important to address the underlying patriarchal social system that perpetuates such abuse. The government should provide more support, especially to civil society organizations that play a crucial role in assisting victims. Cooperation with law enforcement and judicial officials is essential to enhance sensitivity towards victims and ensure accountability.

Summary: This study compared the sexual response patterns of asexual men to sexual men. Results showed that asexual men had lower sexual desire and orgasmic function, higher sexual aversion, and lower genital and subjective sexual arousal to erotic films. However, they displayed similar sexual arousal when engaging in sexual fantasies as sexual men.

Summary: Interviewer characteristics, such as age difference and survey experience, have significant effects on reporting sensitive behaviors like sexual activity. Using DHS data from 21 countries, this study found that in most cases, respondents were less likely to report ever having sexual intercourse if the interviewer was 10 or more years older.

Summary: The purpose of this study is to investigate how naive analyses of UK ART Register data can lead to misleading estimates of the effects of PGT-A and to propose a more credible analysis method. By utilizing logistic regression models and adjusting for confounding factors, the study suggests that PGT-A may have a detrimental effect on live birth events. However, due to limitations in the available dataset, this cannot be considered a definitive estimation. Further research is needed to explore the impact of PGT-A when used as a treatment add-on.

Summary: This study evaluated the effectiveness of the pharmacist-led information technology intervention (PINCER) when rolled out at scale in UK general practices. The findings showed that the intervention was associated with a reduction in hazardous prescribing by 17% and 15% at 6 and 12 months postintervention, with the greatest reductions observed for indicators associated with risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
