Summary: The study demonstrated that Kaempferia parviflora extract has significant anti-inflammatory and anti-psoriatic effects by suppressing key inflammatory markers and inhibiting NF-kappa B pathway activation and protein phosphorylation. The results suggest that KP extract has potential as a promising agent for treating inflammation and psoriasis.

Summary: Narciclasine (NA) inhibits pro-inflammatory factors in LPS-induced microglial cells but increases anti-inflammatory cytokines. The study suggests that NA may relieve neuroinflammation by down-regulating the Akt/IKK/NF-kappa B and JNK signaling pathways.

Summary: This study discovered that dammarane-type triterpenoid saponins from Panax notoginseng have anti-inflammatory, anti-angiogenetic, and anti-dengue virus effects. They may be developed as potential functional foods for treating inflammation, angiogenesis, and dengue-related diseases.

Summary: The study demonstrated that curcumin has a significant inhibitory effect on rheumatoid arthritis, reducing paw swelling and regulating inflammatory factors and protein expressions. Its effectiveness is dose-dependent and weaker than that of dexamethasone in the CIA rat model. Curcumin exerts its effects by transcriptional regulation of the IKK-alpha/-beta/NF-kappa B pathway.

Summary: Vascular endothelium dysfunction caused by endothelium inflammation is a trigger of numerous cardiovascular diseases. This study investigated the effect of Asprosin (ASP) on endothelium inflammation induced by hyperlipidemia. The results showed that ASP may play a pro-inflammation role in obesity-associated endothelium dysfunction, and could be a potential target for the prevention and treatment of obesity-related cardiovascular diseases.

Summary: The IKK complex, consisting of IKK alpha and IKK beta, activates the inflammatory transcription factor NF-kappa B, constitutively active in many cancers. Research has shown that IKK alpha phosphorylates c-Myc on serines 67/71, leading to stabilized c-Myc, increased transcriptional activity, higher cell proliferation, and decreased apoptosis in cancer cells.

Summary: Class IIa histone deacetylases (HDAC) play a role in inflammation by promoting IKK activation and subsequent NF-kappa B activation. In this study, HDAC7 was found to be elevated in astrocytes after LPS challenge, leading to NF-kappa B activation, pro-inflammatory gene upregulation, and anxiety-like behaviors. Inhibition of HDAC7 attenuated LPS-induced inflammation and anxiety-like behaviors.

Summary: This study demonstrated the hepatoprotective activity of sitagliptin against Con A-induced hepatic fibrosis, potentially through enhancement of the Nrf2 signaling pathway and inhibition of NF-Kappa B. Sitagliptin may be a new candidate for suppressing hepatitis-associated fibrosis.

Summary: Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappa B) is a dimeric transcription factor that regulates the expression of chemokines, cytokines, transcription factors, and regulatory proteins, playing a crucial role in inflammation and immunity. Understanding its specific roles in different cell types, tissues, and under different stimuli is important. This review focuses on the role of NF-kappa B in monocytes and macrophages, innate immune cells that exhibit high plasticity and adjust their functions against pathogens and cues from the environment. NF-kappa B activation in macrophages has significant implications in inflammatory diseases and its temporal dynamics are complex.

Summary: Banana is an important fruit crop worldwide. In this study, an anthocyanin-rich extract from banana bract (BBA) was prepared and characterized. BBA showed antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity in LPS-stimulated macrophage-like cells. The presence of phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and anthocyanin in BBA was identified. BBA increased endogenous antioxidants and inhibited the nuclear translocation of NF-kappaB under LPS-stimulated conditions, indicating its potential as an anti-inflammatory agent.
