Summary: CycleGAN is widely used in various image translations, such as thermal-infrared-visible-image translation, near-infrared-visible-image translation, and shortwave-infrared-visible-image translation. The paper constructs a laser-visible face mapping dataset and introduces improvements to the original CycleGAN model by replacing the loss function and adding an identity loss function to strengthen network constraints on the generator. Experimental results show improved SSIM values and reduced FID values compared to existing models. Additionally, a new RRDB module is introduced for better feature extraction and preservation in profile image translations, further enhancing the performance metrics.

Summary: This study used PLSR analysis and SWSR method to show that Vis-NIRS can accurately predict some sensory attributes of intact tomatoes, with good performance in predicting sweetness attribute. Through the analysis of tomato metabolites, high intercorrelations between sensory attributes, metabolites, and informative wavelengths were found, confirming the reliability of Vis-NIRS and SWSR in predicting the sensory quality of whole tomatoes.

Summary: Spectral techniques, including the fusion of visible-to-near-infrared and mid-infrared absorbance, can improve the estimation of soil organic carbon. The use of continuous wavelet transform and optimal band combination strategies contribute to the accuracy of the prediction models. Among the investigated models, the combination of visible-to-near-infrared and mid-infrared using the optimal band combination fusion at a specific scale yielded the best prediction.

Summary: Rock geochemical methods are time-consuming and costly. This study explores the potential of using visible-near-infrared spectroscopy to estimate metal element content in rocks. Several factors were investigated including spectral resolution, preprocessing, band indices, and characteristic band selection. The results show that using band indices can provide a more accurate estimation of metal element content, providing a new technical method for efficient acquisition of regional mineralization indicator element content distribution.

Summary: This study demonstrates the feasibility of using hyperspectral image analysis in the visible and near-infrared range for primary screening of SARS-CoV-2. By applying spectral feature descriptors, partial least square-discriminant analysis, and artificial intelligence, information can be extracted from fluid samples and analyzed quantitatively and descriptively. The proposed technology is reagent-free, fast, scalable, and could significantly reduce the number of molecular tests required for COVID-19 mass screening, even in resource-limited settings.

Summary: This study proposes a novel and non-destructive method based on visible and near infrared spectroscopy for discrimination and thickness estimation of physical and chemical fouling in drip irrigation systems. The models developed were able to predict clogging materials with high accuracy and estimate fouling thickness with relative error. This method provides an appropriate approach for clogging studies in drip irrigation systems.

Summary: A method for accelerating semiconductor device simulation using neural networks has been proposed, where a trained neural network predicts an initial solution to reduce computational costs. Specifically, a convolutional neural network computes the initial solution for MOSFET, considering device templates and a compact expression based on electrostatic potential. Empirical results show significant acceleration in simulation with this proposed method.
