Assisted conception in women of advanced maternal age

S. Seshadri, G. Morris, P. Serhal, W. Saab

Summary: Delaying childbearing has led to more AMA women opting for assisted reproduction, but age-related changes in fertility can decrease success rates. AMA women have various fertility options, requiring detailed counseling and screening for underlying medical conditions.

A systemic review of intravenous immunoglobulin G treatment in women with recurrent implantation failures and recurrent pregnancy losses

Wael Saab, Srividya Seshadri, Changsheng Huang, Lujain Alsubki, Nayoung Sung, Joanne Kwak-Kim

Summary: In recent years, advancements in reproductive technologies and genetic testing have led to improved embryo quality and higher pregnancy rates. However, some patients still face challenges with recurrent implantation failures and recurrent pregnancy losses, which could be attributed to immune dysregulations. Maintaining an anti-inflammatory environment before conception may yield superior results, and intravenous immunoglobulin G treatment has been shown to enhance reproductive outcomes in patients with immune dysregulations leading to RIFs and RPLs.

Paternal age over 50 years decreases assisted reproductive technology (ART) success: A single UK center retrospective analysis

Guy Morris, Dimitrios Mavrelos, Rabi Odia, Xavier Vinals Gonzalez, Suzanne Cawood, Ephia Yasmin, Wael Saab, Paul Serhal, Srividya Seshadri

Summary: Studies have shown that paternal age has an impact on the outcomes of IVF/ICSI cycles, with older paternal age being associated with increased miscarriage rate and decreased live birth rate. However, paternal age over 50 is not independently associated with miscarriage risk following ART. It is important to communicate a public health message encouraging men not to delay fatherhood.
