Experimental study was performed for enhanced heat transfer of mixed molten Hitec salts in transversally corrugated tubes with three different sets of structural parameters. A general correlation was obtained for transversally corrugated tubes, the maximum deviation between fitting correlation and the experimental data is +17%. The variation of drag coefficient vs. Re number was determined in the smooth tube and transversally corrugated tubes, the drag coefficient for transversally corrugated tubes is larger than that for smooth tube. Based on comparison of three kind criterions, the comprehensive enhanced effect of the transverselly corrugated tube with P = 9 is higher than that of P = 5 and P = 16. (C) 2013 Elsevier Inc.
