Summary: The purpose of this study is to determine the threshold for iodine quantification to distinguish between non-enhancing benign renal lesions and potential enhancing masses on portal venous dual-layer spectral computed tomography (CT), in order to reduce the need for additional multiphase CT. By analyzing the data, thresholds for non-enhancing lesions and enhancing masses were determined, which can help doctors make diagnoses and reduce unnecessary examinations.

Summary: This study compared the accuracy of PET/CT parameters with CT parameters for directing bone biopsies. It found that metabolic 2-[F-18]FDG PET/CT parameters have more clinical impact for planning bone biopsies than CT parameters, with SUVmax and lesion size being important factors in detecting malignancy.

Summary: This study used a large number of cancer cases to estimate sensitivity and specificity for various cut-off values in CRC screening using FIT. The optimal cut-off value in an FIT population-based screening program is 45 ng Hb/ml when sensitivity and specificity are equally weighted. However, alternative optimal cut-off values of 125/80/175/350 ng Hb/ml are suggested if a lower number of colonoscopies are accepted to find one cancer.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the performance of the 2018 European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) criteria and the Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) criteria for noninvasive diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The results showed that there were no significant differences in sensitivity and specificity between the EASL criteria and LI-RADS criteria. Subgroup analyses also showed no significant differences for different size observations.

Summary: For patients with covert submucosal invasive cancer (SMIC) discovered after piecemeal endoscopic mucosal resection (pEMR) of large non-pedunculated colorectal polyps, the majority will have no residual malignancy. The risk of residual malignancy can be determined by three key variables: poor differentiation (PD), lymphovascular invasion (LVI), and R1 deep margin.

Summary: This study compared the differences between conventional CT images and virtual monoenergetic images (VMI) at dual-layer dual-energy CT (dlDECT) in CRC patients. The results showed that VMI40 had the highest quantitative image parameters, and adding VMI40 to conventional CT images improved the diagnostic performance for detecting CRC.

Summary: The study suggests that CIMP may be a useful marker for endoscopic surveillance after polypectomy, improving the accuracy in predicting the risk of metachronous advanced colorectal lesions (MACLs). Patients with CIMP+ polyps show a higher risk and shorter time to MACL development, even after adjustment for other factors. The addition of CIMP analysis enhances the sensitivity, negative predictive value, and overall accuracy in estimating MACL risk.

Summary: This study investigates the correlation and diagnostic accuracy of quantitative cerebral blood flow and non-quantitative perfusion weighted imaging measurements in brain tumour surveillance using arterial spin labelling MRI. The results show that there is a high correlation between ASL-PWI ratios and ASL-CBF ratios and their diagnostic accuracy is comparable. Therefore, quantification of ASL-CBF can be omitted in these patients and visual assessment provides the same diagnostic accuracy as quantitative measurements.

Summary: Cine-MRI of the abdomen is a valuable technique for assessing small intestinal motility, but the potential of 3D cine-MRI has been underexplored. Existing image analysis tools have limitations in studying intestinal motility as 3D structures, and deep learning-based segmentation of the small intestine performs poorly due to the anatomical variations among patients. This study proposes a multi-task method that tracks individual segments of the small intestine and performs segmentation using a stochastic tracker and a CNN-based orientation classifier, conditioned on the locations of intestinal centerlines.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the feasibility of lymphatic mapping in patients with locally advanced cervical cancer (LACC) and evaluate the impact of lymphatic mapping on radiotherapy for at-risk lymph nodes. The results showed that lymphatic mapping could identify potential metastases in at-risk lymph nodes, while the current radiotherapy regimen had suboptimal treatment for some nodes. Including at-risk lymph nodes in radiotherapy may improve treatment outcomes in LACC.

Summary: This study investigated the feasibility of magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) in measuring fibrotic disease involvement of the mesentery in small bowel Crohn's disease (CD). The results showed that MRE can detect increased stiffness and decreased fluidity in the mesentery of CD patients, which are correlated with the extent of mesenteric fibrosis. MRE may potentially guide clinical decision-making regarding extended mesenteric resection in CD.

Summary: For patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases, the identification of genetic mutations, such as KRAS mutations, is crucial. This study investigates the potential of radiomics in identifying KRAS mutations using CT scans. While the radiomics model shows good accuracy in the internal test set, it performs poorly in the external validation set. These results highlight the importance of external validation in assessing the clinical applicability of radiomics models.
