The preceding experimental and theoretical results on the rare decay pi(0) -> e(+)e(-) are briefly summarized. Already computed two-loop QED corrections are reviewed and the bremsstrahlung contribution beyond the soft-photon approximation is analytically calculated. The possible further contribution of QCD loop corrections is estimated using the leading logarithm approximation. The complete result can be used to fit the value of the contact interaction coupling chi((r)) to the recent KTeV experiment with the result chi((r))(M-rho) = 4.5 +/- 1.0.

Summary: The NA62 experiment at the CERN SPS conducted a study on pi (0) mesons from K+ -> pi (+)pi (0)(gamma), setting an upper limit on the branching ratio for the decay process. No signal of pi (0) decay to invisible particles was observed, improving previous results by a factor of 60. This result can also be interpreted as an independent upper limit on the branching ratio for the decay K+ -> pi X+, where X is a particle escaping detection with specific characteristics.

Summary: The search for K+ -> pi X+ decay with long-lived feebly interacting particles was conducted using data from the 2017 NA62 experiment at CERN. Limits were set on the branching ratio in two different X mass ranges, showing competitive results in the first range and significant improvements in the second range.

Constraints on leptoquarks from lepton-flavour-violating tau-lepton processes

Tomas Husek, Kevin Monsalvez-Pozo, Jorge Portoles

Summary: Leptoquarks are particles that are widely present in several extensions of the Standard Model and can explain certain experimental phenomena. This article investigates the relationship between scalar and vector Leptoquarks and lepton-flavour violation involving the τ lepton, obtaining some boundary results.

Summary: Searches for lepton number violating decays K+ -> pi(-)e(+)e(+) and K+ -> pi(-)pi(0)e(+)e(+) have been conducted using the complete dataset collected by the NA62 experiment at CERN from 2016 to 2018. Upper limits on the decay branching fractions have been obtained, with values of 5.3 x 10(-11) and 8.5 x 10(-10) at a 90% confidence level. The former result represents a four-fold improvement over the previous best limit, while the latter result sets the first limit on the K+ -> pi(-)pi(0)e(+)e(+) decay rate.

The measurement of the model-independent branching fraction showed three times greater precision than previous measurements. The study also included the measurement of the form factor parameters and their uncertainties using a description based on Chiral Perturbation Theory at O (p(6)).

Summary: A search for the K+ -> mu(-)ve(+)e(+) decay, which is forbidden within the Standard Model by either lepton number or lepton flavour conservation depending on the flavour of the emitted neutrino, has been conducted using the dataset collected by the NA62 experiment at CERN in 2016-2018. An upper limit of 8.1 x 10(-11) is obtained for the decay branching fraction at 90% CL, which represents a 250-fold improvement over the previous search.

The isospin-3 three-particle K-matrix at NLO in ChPT

Jorge Baeza-Ballesteros, Johan Bijnens, Tomas Husek, Fernando Romero-Lopez, Stephen R. Sharpe, Mattias Sjo

Summary: In this study, we compute the value of the three-particle K-matrix, K-df,K-3, for systems of three pions at maximal isospin through next-to-leading order in Chiral Perturbation Theory. We compare the values to existing lattice QCD results and find that incorporating NLO effects significantly improves the agreement between lattice QCD data and ChPT in the first two coefficients of the threshold expansion of K-df, K-3.

Summary: The NA62 experiment at CERN focuses on measuring the ultra-rare K+ -> pi(+) nu(nu) over bar decay and carries out various physics studies, including investigations into symmetry violations and searches for exotic particles. This experiment collected data from 2016 to 2018 using a multi-level trigger system, and this paper highlights the performance studies based on the 2018 data.

Examining linguistic and experimenter biases through non-native versus native speech

Rachel Elizabeth Weissler, Shiloh Drake, Ksenia Kampf, Carissa Diantoro, Kurtis Foster, Audrey Kirkpatrick, Isabel Preligera, Orion Wesson, Anna Wood, Melissa M. Baese-Berk

Summary: There is a consensus among psycholinguistic researchers that listening to unfamiliar speech is challenging. This commentary questions the usefulness of the construct of non-native in research, suggesting it places the burden on the listener rather than the language learner. The factors impacting perception of unfamiliar accents are examined, and recommendations for future work are made to focus on teaching listeners to better understand speakers.

Scalar Bern-Carrasco-Johansson bootstrap

Taro Brown, Karol Kampf, Umut Oktem, Shruti Paranjape, Jaroslav Trnka

Summary: This paper investigates tree-level scattering amplitudes of scalar particles in the context of effective field theories. An ansatz for cyclically ordered amplitudes is constructed using tools similar to the soft bootstrap, and the Bern-Carrasco-Johansson (BCJ) relations are imposed as a constraint. A set of BCJ-satisfying amplitudes is obtained as solutions to this procedure, which can be viewed as special higher-derivative corrections to SU(N) nonlinear sigma model amplitudes satisfying BCJ relations to arbitrary multiplicity at leading order. The surprising finding is that BCJ conditions on higher-point amplitudes impose constraints on lower-point amplitudes and relate coefficients at different orders in the derivative expansion. BCJ conditions are shown to be more restrictive than the soft limit behavior, allowing for only a very small set of solutions.

Recursion relations for one-loop Goldstone boson amplitudes

Christoph Bartsch, Karol Kampf, Jaroslav Trnka

Summary: This paper constructs the recursion relations for one-loop planar integrands in the SU(N) nonlinear sigma model and generalizes the soft recursions for tree-level amplitudes in various quantum field theories. It defines the one-loop planar integrand by cuts and the Adler zero, but additional constraints on the soft behavior of the loop momentum are needed.

Six-meson amplitude in QCD-like theories

Johan Bijnens, Tomas Husek, Mattias Sjo

Summary: We calculate the relativistic six-meson scattering amplitude at low energy in QCD-like theories and discuss various representation cases. By deriving analytical expressions for ten six-meson subamplitudes based on flavor and group structures, we extend previous results obtained in the O(N+1)/O(N) nonlinear sigma model. This work provides a foundation for studying properties of six-particle amplitudes at one-loop level.
