Photoproduction of pions and properties of baryon resonances from a Bonn-Gatchina partial-wave analysis

Masses, widths and photocouplings of baryon resonances are determined in a coupled-channel partial-wave analysis of a large variety of data. The Bonn-Gatchina partial-wave formalism is extended to include a decomposition of t and u exchange amplitudes into individual partial waves. The multipole transition amplitudes for gamma p -> p pi(0) and gamma p -> n pi(+) are given and compared to results from other analyses.

Summary: Differential cross sections and recoil polarization data for gamma p -> K+Lambda process were measured at extremely forward angles using the high angular and momentum resolution forward spectrometer at the BGOOD experiment at ELSA. The high statistics and forward angle acceptance allowed for the extraction of the cross section as the minimum momentum transfer to the recoiling hyperon was approached.

Summary: The PANDA experiment at FAIR aims to advance hadron physics to a new level in terms of range, precision, and accuracy, with a focus on studying hyperons as diagnostic tools for non-perturbative aspects of the strong interaction and fundamental symmetries. Simulation studies have shown that hyperon-antihyperon pairs from certain production channels can be efficiently and accurately reconstructed for detailed spin correlation studies.

Scalar isoscalar mesons and the scalar glueball from radiative J/ψ decays

Summary: A coupled-channel analysis of BESIII data on radiative J/psi decays into pi pi, K (K) over bar, eta eta and omega phi was performed to determine the ten isoscalar scalar mesons. The masses, widths, and decay modes of these mesons were determined and interpreted as mainly SU(3)-singlet and mainly octet states. Octet isoscalar scalar states were observed with significant yields only in the 1500-2100MeV mass region.

Summary: We present a new measurement of the beam-spin asymmetry, Sigma, for the (gamma) over right arrown -> K+Sigma(-) reaction using quasi-free neutrons in a liquid-deuterium target. The dataset includes previously unmeasured photon energy and angular ranges, providing new constraints for partial wave analyses. The experimental data were obtained using the CLAS detector at JLab, and predictions from an isobar model confirm the sensitivity to specific resonances. The inclusion of this data in partial-wave analyses leads to significant changes in gamma-n couplings of resonances with small branching ratios to the pi N channel.

Singlet-octet-glueball mixing of scalar mesons

Summary: The mixing angles between scalar isoscalar resonances and a scalar glueball are determined from their decays into two pseudoscalar mesons. Results show that a small glueball component is admitted by some scalar isoscalar resonances, while significant glueball fractions are required for other resonances. The summation of all observed glueball fractions yields approximately 78%.

Study of the Production of Positively Charged Pions in Proton-Proton Collisions in the Range of Primary Momenta between 1345 and 1536 MeV/c

Summary: This study presents the differential cross sections obtained for the reaction pp -> pn pi(+) at different incident proton momenta. The measurements were performed using a hydrogen-filled bubble chamber and compared with the predictions of the one-pion-exchange model. A partial-wave analysis was conducted to determine the contributions of various partial waves to the process of pion production in the energy region being studied.

Role of Martensite-Austenite Component of Bainitic Structure in Formation of Properties of Pipe Steel. 1. Effect of Parameters of TMT

Summary: The effect of hot rolling and controlled cooling parameters on the formation of the martensite-austenite component in bainitic and ferritic-bainitic structures of K60 pipe steel was studied. Experimental results showed that the volume fraction of the martensite-austenite component varied from 0.5% to 8% depending on the parameters of the thermomechanical treatment. The accumulated strain was found to play a dominant role in the formation of martensite-austenite particles and the determination of the acicular ferrite fraction.

Search for the tensor glueball

Summary: The tensor glueball is investigated in BESIII data by studying radiative J/psi decays into pi(0)pi(0) and KsKs. An enhancement in the pi pi invariant mass distribution is observed, which can be explained by either a pole or three phi phi resonances, suggesting the presence of one, two, or three glueballs. It is also speculated that high-mass tensor mesons may possess both q (q) over bar and glueball components.

The Single Pion Production from the Initial 3D3 np Partial Wave near the d*(2380) State

Summary: We study the transition from the initial np(D-3(3)) state to the pp(D-1(2))pi(-) final state in the mass region near the mass of the d* (2380) state. To extract this contribution, we perform a combined analysis of the data obtained with a neutron beam and a hydrogen target, as well as the data from the pp -> pp pi(0) reaction.

Summary: The first results of geochronological dating of specific intrusive bodies in the Paleoproterozoic Ladoga complex are presented. The affinity of these bodies to the Meyeri zone and their role in the tectonic evolution of the Svecofennides are discussed. Zircon dating indicates the timing of early kinematic stages and folding events in the region.

Summary: Using the BESIII detector, (10 087 +/- 44) x 10(6) J/psi events were collected to study the radiative hyperon decay Sigma(+) -> p gamma for the first time in an electron-positron collider experiment. The absolute branching fraction is measured to be (0.996 +/- 0.021(stat) +/- 0.018(syst)) x 10(-3), which deviates by 4.2 standard deviations from the world average value. The decay asymmetry parameter is determined to be -0.652 +/- 0.056(stat) +/- 0.020(syst), and these measurements represent the most precise values to date with improved accuracies of 78% and 34% for the branching fraction and decay asymmetry parameter, respectively.

Role of Martensite-Austenite Component of Bainitic Structure in Formation of Properties of Pipe Steel. 3. Effect of Martensitic Transformation of Austenite in the MA-Component of Bainite on the Ductility of Steel

Summary: The behavior of low-carbon pipe steel containing 2 and 6 vol.% martensitic-austenitic component in the structure is studied under step forming, expanding and unbending of the pipe using the method of finite-element simulation. The effect of martensitic transformation in the MA-component on the ductility of the steel after processing and unbending of the pipe depending on the volume fraction of the MA-particles in the structure and on the test conditions (the direction of cutting of the samples and the stresses at the start of martensitic transformation) is studied. It is shown that the presence of untransformed austenite in the MA-component can restore partially the ductility of the steel lost due to the plastic deformation during processing of the pipe.

Summary: This research extends the understanding of the thermal and deformation stability of untransformed austenite in the martensitic-austenitic component of low-carbon steel bainitic structure, through experimental and theoretical studies. The analysis of compressive hydrostatic stresses during dilatation provides the relationships to determine the temperature at which martensitic transformation begins in the MA-component, as well as the level of deformation caused by strain-induced martensitic transformation.
