Summary: Ionogels are hybrid materials formed by impregnating the pore space of a solid matrix with a conducting ionic liquid, serving as self-supporting electrolytes in Li batteries. The mechanical properties of silica ionogels depend on solid fraction, temperature, and pore width, with the solid matrix fraction increasing moduli and strength. Pore size effects vary qualitatively with deformation mode, with narrower pores enhancing elastic modulus under shear and uniaxial compression and strength under shear and tensile stress.

Summary: High-strength ionogels are developed through the synergy of force-induced crystallization and halometallate ionic liquid created supramolecular ionic networks. The prepared poly(vinyl alcohol)/halometallate ionic liquid ionogels exhibit excellent mechanical properties, including ultimate fracture stress (63.1 +/- 2.1 MPa), strain (5248 +/- 113%), and unprecedented toughness (1947 +/- 52 MJ m(-3)), surpassing most metals and alloys. Moreover, the ionogels can achieve reversibility through water for green recovery and restoration of damaged mechanical properties.

Summary: Organic salts based on different choline derivative cations and metal ions were immobilized in mesoporous silica nanoparticles through a two-step synthetic method, characterized using various techniques and evaluated for cytotoxicity in different cell lines. The characterization data confirmed successful functionalization and provided insights into the materials' properties, while the cytotoxicity results revealed differences between the metal organic salts and their immobilized analogues.

Summary: Two ionic liquids, [BMIM][BF4] and [EMIM][BF4], were used for the first time to synthesize ordered and well-defined WO3 nanoplates by electrochemical anodization. The influence of different amounts of these ionic liquids on the morphological, structural and photoelectrocatalytic properties of the WO3 nanoplates was extensively studied. The resulted nanostructures, especially those synthesized in the presence of 5%-10% ionic liquids, showed excellent photoelectrocatalytic performances under irradiation.
