Summary: Through a systematic literature review, it was found that 99mTc-HMPAO-SPECT/CT and 18F-FDG PET/CT provide high diagnostic accuracy in CDRIE identification, and their inclusion in diagnostic criteria improves the CDRIE work-up.

Summary: The article presents an improved method for particle size testing of [Tc-99m]Tc-MAA and highlights the issues with the current quality control method. The authors suggest changing the quality control method to improve the concordance between laboratory analysis and in vivo observations.

Summary: This study investigated the uptake of suspected splenic lesions in Tc-99m-labelled RBC scintigraphy and its correlation to physiologic uptake. The results showed higher uptake in splenic lesions compared to other lesions. The pancreas showed the lowest uptake and could be used to distinguish splenic tissue from other tissues.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the impact of the [99mTc]Tc-HMPAO labelling procedure on WBC damage and monitor it through HMGB1 as a biomarker. The results indicated that there were no significant changes in HMGB1 levels in WBC after labelling, further confirming the reliability of the labelling procedure on cell viability.

Summary: This pilot study examined the diagnostic practicality of the 3-h visual grading scale relative to the upper segment of sternum (VGSs) method for interpreting Tc-99m-PYP planar images for the detection of amyloid transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis. The study found that the 3-h VGSs approach was applicable and showed concordance with the gold standard. This suggests that a single imaging session at 3 hours could be sufficient for the detection of ATTR-CA.

Summary: Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) often overexpress somatostatin receptors (SSTRs) and can be challenging to distinguish from organs with physiological SSTR expression. We presented a case of hypoglycemia where Ga-68-DOTATATE PET/CT helped identify two masses near the spleen, initially thought to be accessory spleens. Tc-99m-HDRBC scintigraphy-SPECT/CT proved useful in differentiating a pancreatic NET from an accessory spleen, potentially avoiding unnecessary surgeries.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy and reproducibility of two freely available segmentation algorithms for WMHs. A harmonized MRI protocol was implemented in 3T scanners across 13 European sites, with each site scanning volunteers twice to assess the difference between automated and manual segmentations, as well as the reproducibility between test and retest scans. The results showed that the LST algorithms exhibited moderate accuracy and good reproducibility, making them reliable tools for cross-sectional and longitudinal studies in multi-site settings.

Summary: The study evaluated the potential application of Musa balbisiana starch in mucoadhesive microsphere formulation for oral delivery of gliclazide. The optimized batch showed improved bioavailability and sustained drug release, with significant efficacy in lowering blood glucose levels in diabetic rat model. Overall, the study suggests that the banana starch-based mucoadhesive dosage form has promising potential for enhancing drug bioavailability and managing diabetes.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the interobserver variability and accuracy of preoperative CT and MRI in estimating the size of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) using surgical specimens as the reference standard. The results showed that the measurement results obtained from the pancreatic parenchymal phase CT images were the most accurate, while MRI consistently underestimated the size of PDAC.

Summary: The study aimed to predict count ratios and a novel semiquantitative parameter in three-phase bone scan using Tc-99m-HMPAO-labeled autologous leukocytes scintigraphy in patients with unilateral knee arthroplasty. The perfusion phase and P/BP ratio showed better diagnostic performance for discriminating between septic and aseptic loosening.

Summary: CTA and RBCS have similar accuracy in detecting and localizing AGIB. However, CTA is superior to RBCS in correctly localizing the bleeding site, supporting the usage of CTA as the first-line imaging investigation.
