Summary: This study examined the associations among caregiver experiences, including positive aspects of caring, caregiver burden, and mutuality, in dyads involving persons with dementia and their informal caregivers. The results showed that need characteristics were most frequently associated with the caregiving experience. Bivariate correlations between positive aspects of caring, caregiver burden, and mutuality were moderate to strong. Assessment of both positive and negative aspects of caregiving, as well as attention to depression and interventions targeting depressive symptoms, may be important in reducing caregiver burden and enhancing positive aspects of caregiving.

The results showed that higher perceived social support, positive caregiving experience, and caregiving intensity were significantly associated with lower caregiver burden. The associations between caregiver burden and applying two therapeutic communication methods were not significant.

Summary: The study reveals the uncertainty experienced by mCRPC patients in interpreting symptoms and signs. Men strive to make sense of signs and symptoms based on previous experiences and disease progression. Understanding male perspectives on signs and symptoms in this late phase may help healthcare professionals communicate effectively about disease progression while considering treatment outcomes and quality of life.

Summary: This study investigated the responses of nurses and physicians to the surprise question (SQ) for hemodialysis patients, and explored the association between these responses and patient clinical characteristics. The findings revealed that nurses and physicians had different perspectives in their appraisal when responding to the SQ, and there were also differences in the patient clinical characteristics associated with their responses. This highlights the need for communication and discussion between nurses and physicians to adapt hemodialysis care to patient preferences and needs.

Summary: The study aimed to describe the trajectory of self-rated health of breast cancer patients within 2 years following surgery. Results showed that most women rated their health as good throughout the study period. While the health-line ratings were slightly lower than the actual time-point ratings, the trajectories depicted by the health-line reflected the patterns of health changes reported by the women during the two years.
