Summary: This article uses the difference-in-differences model to examine the pollution emissions of domestic trading enterprises in the face of varying trade openness under the China-ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). The study finds that trade liberalization encourages domestic trading firms to adopt proactive pollution abatement strategies, and that the signing of CAFTA facilitates pollution reduction in enterprises trading mainly with CAFTA members. This effect is more significant in non-state-owned enterprises and labor-intensive enterprises, and the marginal effect tends to expand over time.

Summary: This research investigates the association between electric power consumption, information and communication technologies, economic progress, and environmental damage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's economy. Summary: This study examines the relationship between trade liberalization, CO2 emissions, energy consumption, and economic growth in Southeast Asian and Latin American countries. The findings show that trade has a positive and significant effect on energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and GDP in Southeast Asian countries. While in Latin American countries, trade has a positive but insignificant impact on energy consumption, but a positive and significant impact on both CO2 emissions and GDP. Energy consumption predicts a positive and significant effect on CO2 emissions and a positive but insignificant effect on GDP in Southeast Asia. However, in Latin American countries, energy consumption has a positive and significant impact on both CO2 emissions and GDP. Additionally, CO2 emissions have a positive significant effect on GDP in both regions. Therefore, governments in both areas should implement appropriate policies to promote green technologies in production and exports, leading to a cleaner environment and sustainable long-term development.

Summary: This paper evaluates the impact of electricity consumption from renewable and nonrenewable sources on the load capacity factor for BRICS-T nations using data from 1990 to 2018. The study used linear and nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) approaches to explore these associations. The results show long-run co-integration between load capacity factor and the independent variables according to the Westerlund co-integration test. Renewable electricity energy and human capital contribute to environmental sustainability, while electricity consumption, economic growth, and industrialization hinder environmental sustainability. Notably, the nonlinear effect of renewable electricity energy on LCF yields interesting findings, highlighting its positive or negative impact on ecological sustainability in the BRICS-T nations. Furthermore, the Dumitrescu Hurlin panel causality supports the findings from both linear and nonlinear ARDL approaches. The study provides policy recommendations based on these results.

Summary: Australia, with its vast land area, unique climates, and diverse wildlife, faces environmental challenges including habitat loss and degradation due to changes in land use and severe bushfires exacerbated by climate change. This study examines the relationship between energy use, CO2 emissions, trade liberalization, industrialization, and economic growth in Australia from 1990 to 2018. The findings suggest that economic growth and energy use have positive effects on CO2 emissions, while trade liberalization has a significantly negative impact on emissions in both the long and short term. The study also reveals a one-way causal relationship between trade liberalization and industrialization, as well as between industrialization and carbon dioxide. It emphasizes the need for Australian policymakers to consider the role of energy usage and trade liberalization in balancing economic development and environmental sustainability.

No significant relationship is found between financial development and the ecological footprint. Summary: Household solid fuel use is detrimental to health and the environment. The Indian government's PMUY subsidy has successfully promoted the adoption of LPG by millions of households. However, there is limited understanding of the decision-making process to reduce solid fuel use after transitioning to cleaner fuels. This study found that factors such as household wealth, social status, education level, and the prevalence of LPG use in the village are positively associated with LPG consumption and the discontinuation of solid fuel use. On the other hand, factors such as distance to LPG refill delivery, household size, and the PMUY subsidy are negatively associated with the share of LPG use.

The method of financing plays a crucial role in determining public opposition to government green investments, with debt financing being less opposed than broad-based taxes. This study suggests that credit market tools, such as green bonds and debt for climate swaps, can be politically efficient in increasing support for green financing. Carbon taxes and wealth taxes are found to be the most preferred options.

Summary: The Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) is considered an innovative technology for building a green society. This study investigates the impact of REC purchases on stock return and volume in Taiwan between 2017 and 2021. The findings suggest that REC purchases have a positive effect on stock returns of manufacturing firms but not service firms. The frequency of REC purchases is also an important factor in the relationship between REC purchase and firm value. Additionally, the study reveals that public attention to environmental pollution plays a crucial role in positive stock returns and volume, while ESG disclosure is negatively associated with returns and volume.
