Using CexTi1-xO2 as supports, CuO/Ce0.2Ti0.8O2 and CuO/Ce0.5Ti0.5O2 catalysts With different loading amount of copper oxide (CuO) Were prepared by an impregnation method. The catalytic properties of CuO/Ce0.2Ti0.8O2 and CuO/Ce0.5Ti0.5O2 were examined using a microreactor-gas chromatography (GC) NO + CO reaction system and characterized by the methods of Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), X-ray diffraction (XRD), H-2 temperature-programmed reduction (TPR), and Raman spectroscopy. It was found that 12% CuO/Ce0.2Ti0.8O2 has the highest activity after calcined at 700 degrees C, showing a complete NO conversion at 275 degrees C. Support Ce0.2Ti0.8O2 had a larger specific surface area but less thermal stability than The results of TPR analyses indicated that both dispersed CuO and crystalline CuO are the active centers on the surface of the catalysts. The XRD and Raman data showed the formation of new mixed oxides, Ce4Ti9O24 and CeTi2O6, at 700 degrees C. The mixed oxides enhanced the redox ability and thus, the activities of the catalysts.
