Summary: This study compared the therapeutic outcomes and safety between motorized spiral enteroscopy (MSE) and double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE), and found no significant difference in the success rates between the two procedures. However, MSE had a higher incidence of adverse events.

Summary: CE and DBE have a high diagnostic yield in identifying and monitoring complicated celiac disease. Patients older than age 50 years with a CD duration shorter than 5 years are more likely to have positive CE results. Some SB lesions are unreachable by upper endoscopy.

Summary: This study evaluated the indications, diagnostic yield, therapeutic yield, and complications of double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) in a cohort of consecutive patients according to patients' age. The results showed that DBE had a good diagnostic yield, with vascular lesions and polyps or neoplastic masses being the main findings. Older patients had higher rates of clinically relevant findings and therapeutic intervention. DBE is an efficient and safe diagnostic and therapeutic tool, especially in the elderly population.

Summary: This study retrospectively reviewed the long-term outcomes of DBE-assisted endoscopic resection of duodenal and jejunal polyps in 8 patients with FAP over a period of 14 years, showing that the method can be performed safely, efficiently, and effectively without development of advanced duodenal or jejunal cancer in patients during the study period.

Summary: This study demonstrated that patients with positive DBE requiring therapeutic intervention had a lower rebleeding rate, and about one-fifth of patients may have false negative results after DBE.

Summary: Endoscopic balloon dilatation is an established treatment for benign gastrointestinal strictures, but achieving widths of over 20 mm is challenging. New techniques, such as the single-barrel and double-barrel methods, have been developed to safely dilate over 20-mm widths under direct visualization.

Summary: Double balloon endoscopy (DBE) is a safe and effective procedure for patients with suspected or established Crohn's disease, allowing for diagnostic monitoring and therapeutic intervention. Patients undergoing dilation of strictures via DBE had an 80% surgery-free rate within the follow-up period.

Summary: Transabdominal ultrasonography (US) and endoscopy showed moderate correlation in assessing Crohn's disease activity. US had a stronger correlation with CDAI compared to SES-CD, suggesting its better accuracy in evaluating disease activity.

Summary: This study investigated the etiologic spectrum of benign duodenal stenosis (BDS) and its response to endoscopic balloon dilation (EBD). The results showed that EBD was effective for treating BDS regardless of its etiology. Males were more likely to have distal duodenal involvement, and the usage of PPI was associated with clinical success.

Summary: In this study, the clinical data of 134 cases of CE and 109 cases of DBE were retrospectively analyzed. The results showed that DBE had a higher disease diagnostic rate and suspected intestinal bleeding rate than CE, but required a longer examination time, had a higher incidence of adverse reactions, and a lower examination tolerance than CE.

Summary: Double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE) is safe and effective for ERCP in patients with surgically altered gastrointestinal anatomy, with success rates of 90%-94% and a 4% adverse event rate. Subgroup analysis did not demonstrate significant differences in outcomes between short-scope and long-scope DBE-ERCP. Further research is needed to clarify the role of DBE compared to other modalities in surgically altered anatomy.

Summary: This is a research report on the common causes of pediatric bloody stool, presenting the first case of an isolated juvenile polyp diagnosed and treated by abdominal ultrasonography and double-balloon endoscopy. This study is of great significance for improving the success rate of early diagnosis and non-surgical invasive treatment.

Summary: This study evaluated the efficacy of double-balloon endoscopy (DBE) in detecting small-bowel strictures in Crohn's disease. The results showed that DBE had a higher diagnostic yield compared to computed tomography enterography (CTE), and the diagnostic yield was not influenced by the severity of the stricture. This suggests that DBE is an effective method for detecting small bowel strictures in CD patients.

Summary: This study reported the experience of using DBE for the diagnosis of sbNEN at a single referral center. The results showed that DBE has a sensitivity of 60%, specificity of 100%, and an accuracy of 67% in diagnosing sbNEN, with no observed complications. Further studies are needed to clarify the diagnostic role of DBE in neuroendocrine tumors and its relationship with other techniques.
