Summary: The study suggests that negative symptoms in schizophrenia are linked to reduced anticipatory pleasure, while depressive symptoms are associated with reductions in both anticipatory and consummatory pleasure. It is important to consider the severity of both types of symptoms in understanding pleasure in schizophrenia.

Summary: Patients with psychosis experience lower levels of anticipatory pleasure, with factors such as depression, negative self-beliefs, and suicidal ideation contributing to this decrease. Emotional factors may play a more significant role than cognitive difficulties in the experience of anhedonia in psychosis. Working memory, physical activity, or meaningful activity did not show significant associations with anticipatory pleasure.

Summary: Recent research suggests that individuals with eating disorders have elevated levels of anhedonia, or the inability to experience pleasure. However, past studies have only examined anhedonia as a unidimensional construct and have not separately investigated anticipatory and consummatory pleasure. Understanding pleasure as a multifaceted construct may provide important insights into the underlying mechanisms of binge eating and food restriction.

Summary: Social anhedonia, as a transdiagnostic symptom, has received increasing attention. This study explored the psychometric properties of the ACIPS in undergraduate and Chinese OCD patients. Findings indicated that depression and the severity of obsessive thoughts are significantly negatively correlated with social anhedonia in OCD patients. The ACIPS is a reliable tool for assessing social anhedonia.

Summary: The study aimed to validate the Korean version of the ACIPS among non-help-seeking individuals. The results showed that the ACIPS had good internal consistency and the Korean translation exhibited a three-factor structure including interactions involving close relationships, casual interactions, and interactions involving family members. Total ACIPS scores were positively associated with total BAS and BIS scores, while inversely associated with BDI scores.

Summary: The article describes the development and psychometric qualities of a new measure, the Anhedonia Scale for Adolescents (ASA), designed specifically for use with adolescents aged 11-18 years. After piloting the new scale and conducting exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, the final scale consisted of 14 items with 3 specific factors. The ASA showed high test-retest reliability and incremental validity as a predictor of clinical group compared to existing measures.

Summary: Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII index) are commonly used to indicate inflammation. Their relationship with negative symptoms, including anhedonia, in patients with schizophrenia is not well understood. This study found that there were weak to moderate positive correlations between various negative symptoms and blood cell inflammatory ratios in male patients, and weaker correlations in female patients. However, social anhedonia showed a negative correlation with the SII index in females, suggesting a possible different mechanism. Further exploration is needed to understand the relationship between anhedonia and inflammatory markers.

Summary: This study investigates the perceived stress and modulating factors among informal caregivers during the first COVID-19 lockdown in Europe. The findings indicate that higher perceived stress among informal caregivers is associated with the age and family relationship of the care recipient, cohabitation, and gender of the caregiver. Fear of getting ill, belief in the negative impact of lockdowns on health, and perceived deterioration of the care recipient's health partially mediate these associations. The fear of losing the ability to cope with caregiving tasks and the negative impact of lockdown on the mental health of young care recipients increase the stress of informal caregivers.

Summary: The recovery of individuals with mental health disorders is improved when they have connections and support from their community and relatives. Caregivers play an important role, but their involvement can impact their own health, with women being the most engaged in this role. Research on informal caregivers shows a gender difference, with more women researchers interested in this field. Efforts should be made to recognize the importance of women's involvement in research, as they contribute to a specific and important field. Family caregivers are crucial in the healthcare system, yet their contribution is often not acknowledged. The informal caregiver role is more often filled by women, leading to social inequalities, especially in professional opportunities. Tailored interventions and a better redistribution of unpaid work are needed to address the specific needs and issues of family caregivers and respect gender equality in society.

Summary: Despite limited research on the integration of peer mental health practitioners (PMHP) in hospitals, this study explores the impact of integrating a PMHP in a hospital unit caring for patients with psychiatric disorders. Through qualitative content analysis of focus groups with the interdisciplinary team, the study reveals the feasibility of PMHP integration in an acute psychiatric care setting and highlights the benefits for patients, the team, and the institution. However, further clarification of the PMHP role is necessary to mitigate potential tensions between respective fields of activity.
