Summary: This article explores the surface chemistry properties of the lactate oxidase (LacOx) enzyme monolayer at the air-subphase interface, finding that it remains active and stable without aggregation or irreversible domains. Spectroscopic experiments provided information on the enzyme's secondary structure conformation and showed that the LB film retains an alpha-helix conformation.

Summary: A sensitive coating based on Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films containing monolayers of DPPE with immobilized GOx enzyme was created. The effect of immobilization of GOx enzyme molecules on the surface properties of a Langmuir DPPE monolayer was investigated. The sensory properties of the resulting LB DPPE film with immobilized GOx enzyme in glucose solutions of various concentrations were studied. The findings suggest that acoustic methods can be used to determine the concentration of glucose molecules in an aqueous solution, and the developed technology has potential applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries.

Summary: In this study, highly ordered poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) coated iron oxide nano particles (Plg-IONPs) were synthesized and deposited using the surface pressure-controlled Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) method. The uniform deposition of Plg-IONPs@LB thin film on indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy. The fabricated biosensor utilizing Plg-IONPs@LB/ITO electrodes showed high sensitivity and specificity for detecting Escherichia coli O157: H7 (E. coli) with a limit of detection of 3.0 CFU mL(-1).

Summary: Research on modifying and functionalizing black phosphorus materials has become increasingly popular in recent years. By using 4-azidobenzoic acid to modify few-layers BP nanosheets, the stability of BP was significantly improved. The composite Langmuir-Blodgett film of f-BPNS and dye molecules showed good sensitivity and high stability to acid and alkali gases.

Summary: The Langmuir-Blodgett technique is used to deposit ultrathin films of Au-38(SC2H4Ph)(24) nanoclusters onto solid surfaces, such as mica and silicon. The morphology of the films transferred at different surface pressures in the mono/bi/trilayer regime is studied using atomic force microscopy. The effect of the time spent on the water surface before deposition on the final ordering of nanoclusters within the network is investigated using fast AFM, X-ray reflectivity, and grazing-incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering.

Summary: A SERS active substrate fabricated through self-assembly of gold nanoparticles on the disjointed networks of HC-Ct DNA Langmuir-Blodgett film is reported. The adsorption kinetics of HC-Ct DNA molecules at the air-water interface are studied, indicating the presence of H-type aggregated domains. The APS exhibits high SERS efficacy and can detect ultra-sensitive concentrations of malathion.

Summary: Three non-classical amphiphilic phenylazoimidazole derivatives were synthesized and their in-situ molecular assemblies upon coordination with AgNO3 at the air/water interface were investigated. These compounds showed good photochromic properties and formed H-aggregates on the surface despite lacking alkyl chains. The Ag(I)-coordinated 4-PRIM films exhibited supramolecular chirality due to pi-pi stacking between neighboring azophenyl imidazolium units and symmetry breaking in some systems.

Summary: Novel fluorescent Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films have been constructed from different amphiphilic dicynaoquinodimethanes (DADQs), and the relationship between film structure and fluorescence properties, as well as the response of the films to non-fluorescent target analytes, has been studied. The results show that the modulation of fluorescence varies for different films, which can be attributed to restricted non-radiative decays or charge transfer reactions between target analyte and film.

Summary: In this work, luminescent lanthanide complexes were used as visual probes for the detection of toxic and dangerous materials. The Eu3+-dipicolinic acid complex functionalized nanoSiO2 composites and their LB films showed strong and enhanced red fluorescence emissions of Eu3+ ions when immersed in the aqueous TC solution, with high sensitivity and stability.

Summary: The reasonable design of various functionalized nanocomposites based on black phosphorus has attracted substantial attention, leading to the successful exfoliation of bulk BP into nanosheets. The synthesized Langmuir composite films show promising potential in terms of photoisomerization stability and gas responsiveness. Additionally, the self-assembled films based on BP demonstrate high photoelectric conversion efficiency, indicating their potential applications in a wide range of nano-optical devices and optoelectronic devices.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of potassium ions on the surface properties of Amphotericin B (AmB) using the Langmuir monolayer method. The results showed that potassium ions enhance the influence of AmB on membrane stability at low surface pressures but weaken it at high surface pressures. Potassium ions also significantly interfere with the interaction between AmB and the cholesterol-enriched region.

Summary: A novel phthalonitrile with a 26-member tetraoxadithia macrocycle moiety was synthesized and cyclomerized to obtain a new zinc(II) phthalocyanine. Characterization of the novel phthalocyanine and precursor compounds was conducted using various techniques. Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) thin films were fabricated using the 26-membered phthalocyanine to investigate its gas sensing properties. The sensor parameters and the thickness effect on the gas sensing mechanism were examined using Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) technique. Experimental measurements of QCM kinetic were validated using a nonlinear autoregressive with exogenous input neural network.
