Summary: In recent years, there has been a surge in the development of mHealth apps for children. This research systematically reviews the scientific literature on health apps targeting children in peer-reviewed journals. The study finds that these apps primarily serve the purpose of supporting clinical decision-making, patient education, and patient self-management. The most frequent topics covered by these apps are cancer, obesity, and asthma, while hematological oncology and endocrinology are the most frequently addressed medical specialties. The apps mainly target children and their caregivers, and are predominantly analyzed through observational studies.

Summary: This scoping review explores the perceptions of frailty among the lay public in the United Kingdom. The findings suggest that frailty is seen as a natural part of aging and is associated with increased dependence, loss of identity, social exclusion, and stigma. However, it is unclear whether these perceptions directly impact access to support services for communities.

Summary: This scoping review aims to understand the role of identity in eating behaviors and the maintenance of eating behaviors. The study found that identity measurements seldom accounted for complexities such as multiple identities and identity shifting over time. However, identity was found to be significantly related to eating behaviors in all but one study. The study concludes that identity is underutilized and heterogeneously applied in eating behavior research.

Summary: There are currently no national guidelines regarding bladder cancer treatment and clinical care pathways in Nigeria. This scoping review aimed to identify gaps in knowledge on bladder cancer epidemiology, clinical care, and translational research to inform the development of guidelines and future research. The review included 19 studies and highlighted the high prevalence of schistosomiasis in bladder cancer patients and identified potential biomarkers for further research. Consultation with clinicians and bladder cancer survivors also raised awareness of sociocultural and infrastructural issues affecting diagnosis and treatment.

Summary: Disasters, both man-made and natural, are increasingly impacting millions of people worldwide each year, with floods being the most frequent and economically impactful disaster in South Asia. Post-disaster health interventions in South Asia largely focus on psychosocial rehabilitation programs, with success seen in interventions that consider the local cultural context. Future research should address gaps such as engaging disempowered groups, addressing sexual and reproductive issues, and developing protocols for infectious diseases and mental health issues among disaster victims in South Asia.
