Summary: This study demonstrates that participants' willingness to conform to assigned conditions affects their legal decisions, with non-conforming participants being less likely to confess, plead guilty, and waive Miranda rights. The researchers emphasize the importance of considering non-conforming participants in analyses and interpretations.

Summary: Poultry is seen as a promising value chain for women due to its accessibility, low start-up costs, and nutritional benefits for children. An experimental intervention in rural Ethiopia found that the transfer of poultry packages increased egg consumption and sales among children and adult women.

Summary: Endoglin has been identified as a potential disease biomarker and therapeutic target, playing various roles in physiological and pathological processes. It acts as a co-receptor in the TGF beta pathway and can also be released in soluble form to affect cell signaling. In cancer, endoglin may contribute to both oncogenic and non-oncogenic phenotypes, opening up possibilities for targeted therapies within the tumor microenvironment.

Summary: FOLFIRINOX is increasingly used in the management of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), but neoadjuvant therapy may have complications that prevent surgical exploration. This study found that most patients were able to complete planned neoadjuvant chemotherapy and undergo surgery, but some could not due to poor tolerability or disease progression.

Summary: The study demonstrated a positive cognitive effect of MI plus omega 3 in subjects with positive blood amyloid, but further confirmation is needed. Conversely, no cognitive effect was observed in both positive and negative blood amyloid groups at the 60-month visit.

Summary: This study analyzed the PD-L1 expression subgroups in the KEYNOTE-048 trial and found that higher PD-L1 expression levels were associated with increased efficacy of pembrolizumab or pembrolizumab-chemotherapy. However, the subgroup analysis of PD-L1 CPS < 1 was limited by a small number of participants, indicating the need for additional predictive biomarkers for low PD-L1-expressing HNSCC.

Summary: An analysis conducted on hospitalized US veterans with COVID-19 found no apparent benefit associated with the use of hydroxychloroquine alone or in combination with azithromycin. In fact, there was an increased risk of intubation when hydroxychloroquine was used in combination with azithromycin.

Summary: The treatment of varicocele in infertility is still a controversial issue. Recent scientific evidence shows that varicocele treatment can improve semen parameters and pregnancy rates. The aim of treatment in adults is to improve current fertility status, while in adolescents, it is to prevent testicular injury and maintain future fertility. Correct indication seems to be the key to successful varicocele treatment. This study reviews and summarizes the current evidence on varicocele treatment, focusing on surgical indications in adolescents and adults, as well as other specific situations.

Summary: In this paper, a general framework is established to study the asymptotic properties of the intent-to-treat Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney test in randomized experiments with nonignorable noncompliance. The Pitman efficiencies of the intent-to-treat Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney and t tests are derived under location-shift alternatives. It is shown that the former is superior if the compliers are more likely to be found in high-density regions or if the noncompliers tend to reside in the tails. The results can help researchers choose the more efficient test for existing data and calculate sample size for future trials with noncompliance.

Summary: This study compared the additional value and costs of using a biomarker-guided strategy for RA patients compared to usual care. The results showed that patients in the biomarker strategy spent an extra 2.9 months in low disease activity or remission over 48 months, with similar total costs. Cost-effectiveness was dependent on a combination of early proactive tapering and high medication costs.

Summary: People's increasing reliance on the internet for information sharing and acquisition has made the multimodal marketing advertorial, generated by 'We Media' accounts, vital on social media platforms. Understanding the marketing intent is crucial for effective advertising, but the disguised nature of advertorials poses challenges in accurately recognizing and analyzing its intent. In this study, we propose a novel Multimodal-based Marketing Intent Analysis scheme (MMIA) that tackles this problem and provides insights into the extent and topics of marketing intent in social news.
