Summary: This study aimed to identify factors that affect engagement in work and leisure activities for adults with intellectual disabilities. The findings showed that adults who had difficulty getting around their home, poor physical health, or older age were less likely to engage in work and leisure occupations. Occupational therapists can support this population by promoting aging in place and focusing on occupation-based health promotion to enhance their well-being.

Summary: Inclusive education has become a key focus in global education policies, with efforts made in Europe as well. However, not all students with disabilities, especially those with intellectual disabilities, have benefitted equally from these efforts. There is still a high level of exclusion for students with intellectual disabilities in special schools despite attempts to promote inclusive education.
