Summary: This study evaluated the effects of premixed insulin, premixed insulin combined with metformin, or mulberry twig alkaloids on blood glucose fluctuations in patients with type 2 diabetes using continuous glucose monitors. The results showed that combination therapy improved blood glucose fluctuations and levels of blood glucose and lipids, with mulberry twig alkaloids being more effective in reducing postprandial blood glucose fluctuations.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the effects of baseline background characteristics on cardiovascular disease in patients treated with dapagliflozin and sitagliptin and to analyze glycemic control. The results showed that sitagliptin achieved significantly better HbA1c level < 7.0% in the lower BMI group, while dapagliflozin was more effective in achieving TIR > 70% in the higher BMI group.

Summary: This study evaluated the clinical pharmacokinetics, safety, and pharmacodynamics of the combination of dorzagliatin and sitagliptin in patients with type 2 diabetes and obesity. The results showed that the combination treatment did not increase adverse events and was well-tolerated. There were no significant pharmacokinetic interactions between the two drugs, suggesting their potential co-administration for diabetes management.

Summary: ApoA-I, the main component of HDL, has multiple cardioprotective and antidiabetic functions. This review summarizes the current knowledge of apoA-I's antidiabetic effects, the mechanism behind these effects, and the potential of small peptides that mimic apoA-I to be used as innovative treatments for diabetes.

Summary: The study identified a CV of 40 as the threshold that distinguishes unstable glucose variability and hypoglycemia from stable GV in Japanese outpatients with type 2 diabetes. Impaired insulin secretion might affect the stability of glucose variability.

Summary: The study evaluated the effects of Chiglitazar and Sitagliptin treatment on glycemic variations, changes in insulin resistance, and oxidative stress in untreated patients with T2DM. Results showed that Chiglitazar therapy effectively reduced glucose variation and showed a larger improvement in insulin resistance and inflammatory parameters compared to Sitagliptin.

Summary: Glucose effectiveness, the ability of glucose to regulate glucose utilization and production in the body, plays a significant role in maintaining normal blood sugar levels. Hierarchical statistical analysis revealed that individuals with type 2 diabetes had a decreased glucose effectiveness compared to non-diabetic individuals. This finding suggests that glucose effectiveness could be a potential marker for glucose metabolism disorders and a target for diabetes treatment.

Summary: Statins are commonly used to prevent cardiovascular disease events, but they also increase the risk of type 2 diabetes. These two diseases share common genetic and environmental factors. Studies have confirmed the association between statin treatment and type 2 diabetes, and the purpose of this review is to summarize the important findings and describe the mechanisms behind the increased risk.

Summary: Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous disease characterized by high blood sugar caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, with both monogenic and multigenic forms. While many putative causative genes have been identified, a large percentage of cases remain undiagnosed, indicating a need for further research to identify causal variants of diabetes.
