The gut microbiota has been found to be correlated with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. This study investigated the relationship between fasting and postprandial glucose levels and microbiota in older adults. The findings suggest that the individual pattern of microbiota may serve as a predictor for post-dinner hyperglycemia and abnormal glucose metabolism risk.
