Summary: This study proposes a spatio-temporal dual-encoder network model to improve saliency detection in night driving condition. The model is based on an eye tracking dataset collected from 30 experienced drivers watching night driving videos. It accurately predicts driver's fixation and shows excellent prediction of dimly lit targets at night.

Summary: Previous research has shown that people rely on color expectations to guide the visual search for flavor labels. This study conducted two experiments to examine how violation of these expectations influenced subsequent searches. The results revealed a significant color-flavor incongruency effect, with participants taking longer to find targets whose color violated their expectations. Furthermore, the study demonstrated that the color-flavor incongruency effect was modulated by the recent history of expectation violation in repeated searches, and that expectation violation also facilitated subsequent searches for different targets.

Summary: This study used eye-tracking measures to assess visual attention to nutrition and sustainability claims, finding that more visual attention was associated with a higher likelihood of choice. Sweetener content and genetic modification claims received the most attention, which is important for promoting healthy and sustainable food choices.

Summary: Researchers utilized eye tracking technology in a virtual environment to study visual search behavior, finding a significant relationship between gaze behavior and target objects. Additionally, they observed that with increased cognitive load, participants slowed down, focused less on objects, and scanned more objects in the environment. The study demonstrates the usefulness of complex virtual environments in active visual search experimentation and provides insight into individual behaviors during un-timed visual search tasks.

Summary: The research aimed to understand the visual search and conflict mitigation strategies of expert controllers to be used in ATCS training. Findings showed participants used systematic search patterns and applied an information hierarchy when processing aircraft information; altitude or direction changes were generally preferred over speed changes when mitigating potential conflicts.

Summary: Research found that the visual tracking ability of soccer players did not seem to benefit from their specific knowledge when facing scenarios with real game trajectories. The spatial dispersion and crowding of virtual players affected participants' gaze activity and visual tracking performance. The gaze activity of soccer players differed in some aspects from non-soccer players.

Summary: This study examines how individuals perceive their surroundings during emergency evacuations using virtual reality and eye-tracking. The results show that familiarity and neighbor behavior influence visual attention and route choices. The visibility of exit doors also affects attention and choices. However, changes in emergency lighting do not significantly impact route choices and attention.

Summary: Emotions play a crucial role in capturing attention and affecting information processing in today's complex information environments. Our eye-tracking study examined the influence of emotional user comments on attention during online interactions. The results showed differences in visual attention towards comments with negative versus positive valence, as well as between discrete emotions like anger and fear. These findings contribute to understanding the role of emotions in information processing when reading user comments on social media.

Summary: The study suggests that the OXT system helps increase attention towards the eye region of familiar faces, especially in anxious contexts; individuals with autistic-like traits may have reduced attention to the eye region of a face regardless of familiarity or OXT treatment.

Summary: This study explores how infants focus their attention and finds that it is influenced by factors such as age and image characteristics. The attention of infants is more attracted to unique elements, but the effect of physical salience on attention varies in a graded manner. The uniqueness of an item does not directly influence attention. The results suggest that attention in infancy is influenced by quantitative variations in physical salience.

Summary: This study examined the differences in visual search behavior among rugby players of different expertise levels during attacking scenarios. The results showed that experienced players tended to focus on the area immediately ahead of their supporting player, especially when executing specific actions, while novice players relied more on the actions of the defender to guide their actions.

Summary: This study examines the influence of both user-generated content (UGC) and marketer-generated content (MGC) on tourists' choice of restaurant, using eye-tracking technology to measure customers' visual behavior combined with retrospective think-aloud interviews. It provides insights into the roles of pictorial information, written information, and other factors, while clarifying the role of positive and negative reviews in influencing restaurant selection from international tourists' perspectives.

Summary: Drawing on cognitive load theory, congruence research, and dual processing models, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of online advertising in social media through three separate studies. The findings suggest that synergies between social media content and advertising content positively affect users' visual attention, and congruent ad-media contexts can act as peripheral cues, facilitating message processing.

Summary: The contributions of Cognitive Neuroscience to education have generated valuable information that may aid in educational transformation, but have also led to a demand for neuro-products not always supported by scientific findings, contributing to misunderstandings and myths. Educators can enhance their understanding of Neuroscientific principles by engaging in research projects, participating in course discussions, and strengthening their knowledge of methodological bases, thereby avoiding false allure of commercial neuro-products.
