Summary: PMMA-TBB exhibits superior biocompatibility over PMMA-BPO bone cements for at least seven days post-polymerization, with higher cell attachment, proliferative activity, and differentiation markers. The presence of PMMA-TBB results in lower cytotoxicity and a rapid reduction in cytotoxicity compared to PMMA-BPO.

Summary: In this study, the first thorium-thorium bond in a crystalline cluster prepared under normal experimental conditions was reported. The presence of two delocalized paired electrons and a sigma-aromatic three-center two-electron bond in the isolated actinide cluster was confirmed. However, further investigation revealed that the previously observed inelastic scattering bands attributed to thorium-thorium vibrations actually represented the combination of Th-Cl stretching and Th-Cl-Th bending modes, establishing the existence of an unprecedented multicenter charge-shift bonding structure.

Summary: In this study, the recovery of cis,cis-Muconic acid was conducted using reactive extraction method with different extractants and organic diluents. Important extraction parameters were determined and the results were interpreted using mass action law model. Thermodynamic studies were carried out to estimate the process. The number of theoretical stages for designing a counter-current liquid-liquid extraction column was also assessed.

Summary: In this study, the researchers found that exposure to Tri-n-butyl phosphate (TnBP) had detrimental effects on the regenerative process of zebrafish larvae. It led to a decrease in neutrophil count and chemotaxis, a reduction in reactive oxygen species levels, dysregulation of gene expression related to fin regeneration, upregulation of inflammatory factors, and inhibition of regenerative area. TnBP exposure displayed immunotoxicity and decreased oxidative stress in injured zebrafish larvae.

Summary: Treating the adhesive surface with porcelain sintering can improve the bonding strength between zirconia ceramics and RelyX Unicem Cement, especially when used in combination with silane coupling agents. The two types of silane coupling agents, Monobond-S and Clearfil Repair, can both enhance the bonding strength between zirconia and resin cement, with Clearfil Repair being more effective. Thermal cycling has a significant negative impact on the shear bond strength between zirconia and RelyX Unicem Cement, but Clearfil Repair helps improve the durability of zirconia bonding strength.

Summary: This study evaluated the effect of different cleaning methods on the shear bond strength of resin cement to contaminated zirconia specimens. The application of ceramic primer before contamination did not preserve the bond strength, while cleaning the contaminated surface with hydrofluoric acid or KATANA(TM) Cleaner improved the bond strength.

Summary: This study conducted a thermodynamic analysis of density and viscosity data of binary liquid mixtures of tri-iso-amyl phosphate and n-hexane (or n-dodecane) obtained through accurate measurement. The study revealed the law governing the density and viscosity of binary mixtures, and introduced the Redlich-Kister equation of state to interpret the physical significance of coefficients. The findings suggested a relationship between the coefficients of the RK-EoS and the virial coefficients in terms of molecular interactions.

Summary: The effect of silane contents on their chemical interaction with MDP and affecting the bonding of MDP to zirconia was investigated using TOF-SIMS and SSNMR spectroscopy. The results showed that the silane enhanced the hydrophilicity and resin affinity of zirconia, but did not adversely affect the bond durability.

Summary: The study demonstrated that grafting mercapto- and amino-terminated silanes effectively enhanced the osteogenic potential of Y-TZP implants, promoting osteogenic differentiation and mineralization while improving surface hydrophilicity to facilitate cell adhesion and growth. In contrast, vinyl- and methyl-terminal silanes exhibited inhibitory effects on certain bone-related gene expressions, highlighting the superiority of mercapto- and amino-terminated silanes in promoting osteogenesis.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the effects of an experimental primer containing acetone solution and MDTHP on the bonds between noble metals and acrylic resin. Results showed that the MDTHP primer exhibited higher post-thermocycling shear bond strengths on all the four metals, especially on silver and copper. Within the study's limitations, MDTHP may be applicable as a functional monomer for bonding noble metal alloys.
