Summary: Early diagnosis of breast cancer is crucial in reducing mortality. We propose a new modeling approach based on possibility theory, using clustering and feature aggregation to improve classification accuracy. Experimental results on breast cancer screening demonstrate high accuracy in mass and micro-calcification detection.

Summary: This study identified and validated an ICD-based gene signature for predicting the prognosis of breast cancer patients. The immune features of high-risk group were characterized by higher infiltration of tumor-associated macrophages and a lower proportion of CD8(+) T cells.

Summary: A prognostic model based on mesenchymal stem cell scores was established to predict the prognosis of ovarian cancer patients and guide immunotherapy and targeted therapy. The distribution of different risk groups was assessed, and the high-risk group exhibited an immunosuppressive phenotype and high micro-vessel density. Validation experiments further confirmed the relevance of prognostic genes and their correlation with ovarian cancer metastasis.

Summary: Cell-assisted lipotransfer (CAL) is a technique that enriches autologous adipose transplantation with adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) and has the potential to improve cosmetic outcomes at irradiated sites. However, concerns have been raised about the oncological risk of ADSCs in cancer patients. A systematic review showed that CAL did not increase recurrence risk in breast cancer patients after radiotherapy and provided aesthetic improvement, but it required more adipose tissue and had lower fat graft retention in irradiated patients.

Summary: Improved breast cancer risk models like Mirai utilize deep learning to achieve earlier detection and less harm from screenings. By training on diverse datasets and demonstrating superior accuracy, Mirai outperforms prior models in identifying high-risk patients across different populations.

Summary: The study established a depression-related gene signature to predict overall survival in breast cancer patients, indicating its correlation with pathological parameters and sensitivity to therapy. The high-risk group had higher levels of immunosuppressive cells and low-risk patients responded better to chemotherapy and endocrine therapy.

Summary: This study identified two stable GC stem cell subtypes, low stem cell enrichment (SCE_L) and high stem cell enrichment (SCE_H), with distinct gene activation pathways. The GC stem cell subtypes accurately predicted clinical outcomes, tumor microenvironment characteristics, somatic mutation landscape, and potential responses to different therapies. Additionally, a CSC typing-related RS model was established to predict patient overall survival independently.

Summary: Hydroxyethyl chitosan (HECS) hydrogels can mimic the structure and composition characteristics of the extracellular matrix in breast tumors, with highly porous structure, stiffness comparable to breast tissue, and great potential for constructing breast tumor models as a biomimetic ECM.

Summary: This study revealed that BCSC-derived ANXA6-exo plays a crucial role in promoting PTX resistance and cancer progression in breast cancer cells. By influencing autophagy and the YAP1 pathway, ANXA6-exo enhances stemness in BC cells, providing insights for developing novel treatment strategies for breast cancer.

Summary: GRP78 is a heat shock protein that is usually found in the endoplasmic reticulum of normal tissues, but can also be expressed on the cell surface of cancer cells and stem cells. It functions as a signaling molecule with diverse binding partners to regulate various cellular responses. The interaction of GRP78 with Dermcidin (DCD) has been identified as critical for regulating migration in both stem cells and cancer cells, involving the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway.

Summary: Breast cancer is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in women. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a subgroup of cells that can differentiate into multiple cell types and have been found to have various effects on tumor growth and development. Recent studies have shown that MSCs can both promote and inhibit tumor development. Exosomes (Exo) have emerged as a new mechanism of cell communication, and MSC-derived exosomes (MSCs-Exo) have been found to carry molecules that can affect the proliferation, metastasis, and drug response of breast cancer cells.

Summary: Identifying women at high risk of breast cancer is important for studying high-risk experiences and delivering risk-management care. This study applied three breast cancer risk prediction models to a community-based sample of women and assessed the prediction estimates using survey data. The findings showed that different models identified different groups of high-risk women, suggesting that the use of multiple models may be beneficial for research and clinical care.

Summary: This study developed a risk model that incorporates gene expression-based intrinsic subtypes for breast cancer prognosis and prediction of chemotherapy benefit. The intrinsic subtypes showed significant prognostic significance and remained significant even when standard parameters were incorporated. The model can be used to predict prognosis for node-negative breast cancer and assess the likelihood of efficacy from neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Summary: The synthesis and characterization of two new binuclear copper(II)-phenanthroline complexes, 1 and 2, are reported. Complex 1 shows nanomolar toxicity towards bulk breast cancer cells and breast cancer stem cells (CSCs), with potency greater than that of cisplatin and salinomycin. Mechanistic studies reveal that complex 1 induces breast CSC apoptosis by increasing intracellular reactive oxygen species levels and damaging genomic DNA.

Summary: The progression of early stage breast and colon cancer to metastatic disease is a major cause of mortality in women. Development of drug-resistant cancer stem cell models is needed to overcome the limitations of current chemotherapy and targeted therapies. Dietary phytochemicals show growth inhibitory efficacy for cancer stem cells, offering new therapeutic alternatives for therapy-resistant breast and colon cancer.
