Nanorods of {[Cu-2(BDC)(2)(dabco)]center dot 2DMF center dot 2H(2)O} (1) and nanotubes of {[Cu-2(BDC-NH2)center dot(2)(d-bco)]center dot 2DMF center dot 2H(2)O} (2) h-ve been synthesized vi- re-ction of copper(II) -cet-te with terephth-lic -cid -nd -minoterephth-lic -cid in the presence of triethylenedi-mine -s the pill-r lig-nd -nd -cetic -cid -s the modul-tor. Form-tion of the unexpected n-notube morphology inste-d of n-norods w-s evidenced when -minobenzene- 1,4- dic-rboxyl-te [BDC- NH2] w-s used inste-d of the benzene- 1,4- dic-rboxyl-te (BDC) lig-nd. N-norods -nd n-notubes of compounds 1 -nd 2, respectively, were ch-r-cterized by sc-nning electron microscopy (SEM), tr-nsmission electron microscopy (TEM), X- r-y powder diffr-ction (XRD) -nd BET -n-lyses.
