Templated by iodine molecules, the first example of an I-2-containing In(III)-MOF, [In-2(pydc)(3)(H2O)]center dot 0.5I(2)center dot 0.5H(2)O, has been prepared. It shows a rare single-crystal-to-single-crystal (SCSC) transformation upon removal the lattice iodine molecules.
