Summary: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness and sensitivity of tooth whitening techniques using violet LED through a clinical trial. The results showed enamel whitening effects in all groups, with significant changes in the group using hydrogen peroxide only. There were no statistically significant differences in sensitivity between the groups. Treatment with violet LED showed the best sensitivity outcomes, changing the enamel color by one tone on the color scale.

Summary: The structure and composition of dental enamel are crucial for understanding tooth decay, enamel development, and dental treatment. This study used synchrotron X-ray diffraction and machine learning to investigate the differences in crystallographic parameters between different microarchitectural domains of enamel. It was found that the composition of crystallites varies, and a model was used to predict the concentration of minority ions. These results provide new insights into the complexity of enamel and have implications for modeling its mechanical and chemical performance.

Summary: Objective charcoal based whitening toothpastes were compared for their effects on color, surface roughness, and microhardness of human enamel. Results showed that the whitening performance of these toothpastes was not clinically acceptable and led to increased surface roughness in most cases, with varied effects on microhardness.

Summary: Amelogenesis imperfecta is a congenital form of enamel hypoplasia, and miRNAs, specifically miR-1306-5p, miR-3195, and miR-3914, have been identified as potential regulators of genes associated with the condition. Advanced bioinformatic analyses revealed potential roles for miRNAs in amelogenesis imperfecta.

Summary: Human tooth enamel needs to withstand contact forces, wear, and corrosion in the oral environment. This review provides an overview of the fatigue and wear mechanisms of enamel and their relationship to tooth damage. Additionally, it highlights the importance of understanding these processes for improving the longevity of natural teeth and calls for further research in this area.

Summary: This study analyzed the stable carbon and oxygen isotopic compositions of faunal remains from the Tor Hamar rock shelter site in southern Jordan to reconstruct paleoenvironments and hunting activities. The results showed an environmental shift from a wetter condition to a drier condition, consistent with the lake-level shift of Lake Lisan and its pollen data. The isotopic data of gazelle also indicated a change in human hunting strategy, possibly targeting multiple different species.

Summary: This study used high-resolution microcomputed tomography to reveal the three-dimensional structure and characteristics of the tufts in human dental enamel, shedding light on their distribution, dynamics, and the connection between their undulations and the dentin surface. Further research is needed to explore the possible connection between these tufts and Hunter-Schreger bands.

Summary: This systematic review gathered evidence on the use of bovine teeth as substitutes for human teeth in laboratory studies. A total of 78 articles were included, with some indicating that bovine teeth can be used as substitutes for human teeth, while others caution against or do not recommend the substitution. Overall, bovine teeth can be considered as substitutes for human teeth in certain research areas.

Summary: In this study, MnCo2S4 nanosheet catalyst was successfully synthesized and found to exhibit superior performance in hydrogen evolution. Compared to MnCo2S4, MnCo2S4 showed low overpotentials, moderate Tafel slope, and excellent sustainability. The outstanding performance can be attributed to the increased number of electrochemically active sites and enhanced electronic conductivity on the catalyst surface.

Summary: Networks are important for describing relationships between people, roads between cities, reactions between chemicals, and other interactions. Bipartiteness, dividing the network into two groups, can facilitate the study of the network's structure. We have developed an algorithm that can find a near-optimal bipartisation within a reasonable time frame and used it to uncover the hidden structure of the CSD cocrystal network.
