Summary: Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are mucocutaneous reactions that can lead to severe ocular complications. This case report describes a rare presentation of isolated ocular SJS in a patient with ulcerative colitis being treated with Infliximab. The diagnosis was challenging as the causative agent had already been discontinued, but a conjunctival biopsy helped confirm the diagnosis. The treatment involved high-dose IV steroids and dual immunosuppression. This case contributes to the evidence supporting intensive ophthalmic management of SJS to prevent long-term vision loss.

Summary: Vaccines are crucial in combating the Sars-CoV-2 pandemic, but they can also lead to various cutaneous reactions like Sweet's syndrome. This case study highlights a 52-year-old Caucasian male who developed Sweet's syndrome shortly after receiving the BNT162b2 vaccine, suggesting a potential link between the vaccine and the syndrome.

Summary: By reviewing patient data, we found that about 7% of patients with Behcet's syndrome developed new manifestations during treatment with IFX. Vascular involvement was more common in patients with new manifestations. For the majority of these patients, intensifying IFX treatment or adding other agents proved effective in managing the symptoms.

Summary: The objective of the study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of infliximab in BS patients with vascular involvement. Among the 127 patients treated with infliximab, the remission rate was 73% at Month 6 and 63% at Month 12. Patients with pulmonary artery involvement and venous thrombosis had better remission rates compared to those with non-pulmonary artery involvement and venous ulcers.

Summary: This article reveals that, in addition to being the main energy source for cells, glucose also plays a role in regulating alternative splicing during epidermal differentiation. Glucose binds to the RNA-binding protein DDX21 and alters its interaction properties, thereby modulating splicing decisions.

Summary: This study aimed to better understand the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) following COVID-19. Research found that MIS-C associated with COVID-19 shares features similar to Kawasaki disease and may be related to post-infective immune dysregulation. Further studies are needed to elucidate the underlying pathogenesis.

Summary: Sweet syndrome is a rare disease characterized by sudden onset of skin lesions accompanied by fever, leukocytosis, and neutrophilia. It is responsive to systemic steroids. Sweet syndrome can have extracutaneous manifestations affecting various organs, and it is often associated with hematological malignancies such as myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). In this article, the authors propose an algorithm for evaluating patients with MDS-related Sweet syndrome.
