Summary: This article examines the challenges faced by the global norm of sustainable development goals (SDGs) during national implementation, using South Korea as a case study. The research finds that the concept of sustainable development in Korea has evolved over time, shaping the current implementation of the SDGs. The challenges in the process are not only technical and functional, but also socio-institutional. To address these challenges, the active participation of various stakeholders and collaborative governance are significant.

Summary: This study aimed to identify fatigue phenotypes in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and examine their stability over time. The results suggest that considering the severity of fatigue experienced may be more important than considering the type of fatigue when characterizing fatigue phenotypes. Future research should explore interventions targeting environmental factors, self-efficacy, and fatigue catastrophizing to reduce the likelihood of transitioning to more severe fatigue phenotypes.

Summary: The paper reviews the experience of low-and middle-income countries that have introduced HPV vaccines, focusing on sustainability and scale-up challenges. Despite successes in reaching eligible girls, there are still considerable challenges to overcome, such as rumors, reaching out-of-school girls, and estimating target populations. New opportunities, such as additional vaccine manufacturers and one-dose delivery studies, could help address barriers to higher coverage and financial sustainability.

Summary: Approximately 7.5 million US adults are homebound or have difficulty accessing office-based primary care. Home-based primary care (HBPC) provides such patients access to longitudinal medical care at home. A study described the challenges and adaptations made by HBPC practices during the first surge of the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey found that most practices pivoted to telemedicine, provided resources for patients, and trained staff in PPE use and COVID testing.

Summary: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) in adolescents with major depressive disorder (MDD) or bipolar disorder-depressive episode (BP-d) is associated with a primary diagnosis of BP-d and comorbid disruptive behavior disorders (DBD). Screening for MetS-related parameters early in adolescents with depression-spectrum disorders is important for prevention.

Summary: Rare disease registries can improve research accessibility for patients, but in Portugal, the adoption rate of a specific registry for inherited retinal degenerations is low. Only a few centers actively enroll patients, highlighting the need to understand and improve factors that hinder its nationwide adoption. This is important for the development of sustainable and successful rare disease registries.

Summary: This study analyzed the efficacy and tolerability of vortioxetine in patients with major depressive disorder. The results showed that vortioxetine 20 mg/day was more effective than 10 mg/day, with similar tolerability. In flexible-dose studies, nearly half of the patients received 20 mg/day after 1 week and two-thirds received 20 mg/day as their final dosage.

Summary: This study investigates the experience of emotional blunting in depression, its impact on overall functioning and quality of life, and the perspectives of patients and healthcare providers. The findings show that almost three-quarters of patients in the acute phase of depression and one-quarter of those in remission reported severe emotional blunting. Furthermore, approximately 56% of patients believed that their emotional blunting was caused by their depression, while 45% believed that their antidepressant medication was negatively affecting their emotions. Over one-third of patients were considering stopping or had stopped their antidepressant as a result.

Summary: This study focuses on a large family with 12 members affected by bipolar disorder. Through whole-exome sequencing, certain genes, including CLN6 and ZNF92, were identified as having variations associated with the disorder. The findings suggest that heterozygous carriers of CLN6 may develop bipolar disorder later in life if combined with additional variants in ZNF92.

Summary: Life events can amplify emotional suffering caused by suicide of a loved one, while supportive social relationships can facilitate coping. This study explored the effects of stressful events and perceived social support on depressive and grief symptoms among 378 help-seeking Italians bereaved through suicide. Although no significant impact of interpersonal stressors was found, perceived social support buffered the intensity of depressive symptoms. Therefore, emphasizing and utilizing individuals' perceived social networks could strengthen postvention programs.
