Summary: This study aimed to construct artificial intelligence models based on thoracic CT images for the segmentation and classification of benign pleural effusion (BPE) and malignant pleural effusion (MPE). The researchers developed a pleural effusion segmentation model (M1) by combining 3D spatially weighted U-Net with 2D classical U-Net. They also built a classification model (M2) for identifying BPE and MPE. The results showed that these deep learning models exhibited promising performance in the segmentation and differential diagnosis of pleural effusions.

Summary: This study suggests that a combination of MRI texture analysis and LDA algorithm is effective in discriminating between benign and malignant breast lesions. Different classification models showed promising results in both training and validation groups, demonstrating potential clinical utility.

Summary: A multi-model weighted fusion framework based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and age information is proposed for the diagnosis of benign and malignant spinal tumors. The experimental results show that the proposed framework achieves higher accuracy compared to three doctors in both cases with and without age information.

Summary: In this study, texture features extracted from intratumoral subregions of breast DCE-MRI showed potential in distinguishing benign from malignant breast tumors. Support vector machine models in the early and late subregions outperformed decision tree models in both the training and validation cohorts.

Summary: The study found that using diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) for radiomics analysis did not provide additional diagnostic value compared to conventional DWI in differentiating benign and malignant soft tissue tumors, with no significant difference between the two in practical application.

Summary: The study aimed to develop predictive models for distinguishing parotid lesions using MRI-based radiomics with T2-weighted images and ADC maps. Results showed good to excellent diagnostic accuracies in differentiating parotid lesions, which were confirmed with an external validation cohort after utilizing qualitative scores evaluating margins and CE.

Summary: This study utilized MRI-based radiomics approaches to distinguish malignant from benign soft-tissue tumors with handcrafted and deep learning-based features. The findings showed that the fusion radiomics nomogram had the best diagnostic performance, indicating the potential clinical value of tumoral and intratumoral radiomics in soft-tissue tumor diagnosis.

Summary: The study aimed to differentiate benign and malignant breast lesions by combining BOLD-MRI, DCE-MRI, and DW-MRI, but found that the combined use of these imaging techniques did not provide a significant improvement compared to using DCE-MRI alone. An interesting result was the negative correlation between R-2* and D.

Summary: The study found that the combination of synthetic MRI and DWI outperformed the BI-RADS system in differentiating malignant and benign breast lesions, and did so without the need for contrast agents. This approach may serve as an alternative and effective strategy for improving breast lesion differentiation.
