Summary: Hyponatremia 6 months after transplantation is not associated with mortality in kidney allograft patients, nor with rapid decline in renal function, graft loss, or mortality. The presence of hyponatremia at 6 months post-transplantation does not have negative effects in this population.

Summary: Pulmonary infections are a major cause of morbidity and mortality in renal transplant recipients, with fungal infections, bacterial infections, and patients requiring mechanical ventilation having higher mortality rates. Infections often occur in the first year post-transplantation and beyond 5 years, with some cases requiring computed tomography imaging for diagnosis.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effect of exercise on reversing prediabetes in renal transplant patients in order to prevent late PTDM. The results showed that exercise can improve glucose metabolism and reverse prediabetes in these patients. Personalized exercise prescription and measures to promote adherence are necessary for the effectiveness of the exercise program.

Summary: Enterococcal infections are common in the first year post-liver transplantation, with recipients who have infections in the biliary tract, peritoneum, or surgical site at increased risk of bloodstream infection (BSI). Risk factors for enterococcal BSI include age, cold ischemia time, and previous infections.

Summary: In this study, researchers investigated the complications occurring after acute COVID-19 in renal transplant recipients. They found that only a small percentage of patients remained symptom-free during follow-up, with many experiencing clinical complications and laboratory abnormalities. Diabetes mellitus and eGFR CKD-EPI were identified as predictors for the development of post-COVID clinical complications. Despite hospitalizations and concomitant problems, most patients showed gradual improvement in their initial clinical problems within six months post-COVID-19.

Summary: This study assessed the effects of a comprehensive ERAS protocol in low- and medium-risk liver transplant patients. The results showed that ERAS protocol is feasible and safe for these patients, reducing the need for blood transfusion and renal replacement therapy, shortening hospital stay, and achieving survival rates consistent with reference data.

Summary: This study provides detailed insights into the peripheral blood leukocyte response after colorectal cancer surgery, showing that surgery induces rapid and significant redistribution of immune cells. The phenotypic alterations in monocytes suggest a mixed profile of cellular activation and deactivation.

Summary: The burden of infections during the first year posttransplant is high but not significantly different in ABOi-KT and ABOc-KT recipients, suggesting that concerns regarding infectious complications should not affect the implementation of ABOi-KT programs.

Summary: The study compared the renal outcomes of IgMN patients with those of MCD, FSGS, or MsPGN patients, finding that IgMN patients had more mesangial proliferation and matrix expansion. However, at the last follow-up, there was no significant difference in urine protein or eGFR among all patients. Additionally, the presence of hypertension at the time of kidney biopsy predicted >= 20% decline of eGFR over two years in IgMN patients.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of health literacy and self-management on complications, kidney function, and graft failure after kidney transplantation. The results showed that health literacy did not influence kidney transplant related outcomes, while higher knowledge and management of symptoms were associated with lower graft failure.

Summary: A prospective cohort study in a Southeast Asian community-based population found an independent association of serum uric acid levels with impaired renal function, with higher incidence observed in males than females. Linear regression analysis showed a negative correlation between eGFR and serum uric acid levels.
