Summary: This study assessed the esthetic and clinical performance of a novel self-tapping implant system for single-tooth restorations in the esthetic zone after immediate placement and provisionalization. The results showed that both the Straumann BLX and Ankylos implant systems achieved good peri-implant tissue esthetics and health during immediate implantation and restoration protocols for at least 12 months.

Summary: The study aims to quantify the neighboring and antagonist teeth migration of a single posterior tooth-missing site within 3 months using digital scanning and measuring techniques. Results showed that the dimensions of the posterior tooth-missing sites decreased over the 3-month observation period, with a significantly larger reduction in younger patients compared to older patients.

Summary: The study evaluated the color change and tooth sensitivity caused by at-home bleaching in patients with sound and restored teeth. Results showed that patients with sound teeth had higher color change values compared to those with restored teeth. However, there were no significant differences in tooth sensitivity between the two groups after bleaching.

Summary: The study found that the presence of a prosthesis in implants without interproximal bone loss led to an underestimation of probing depth, which was more significant in implants diagnosed with mucositis. However, the difference in probing depth with and without a crown was not significantly affected by diagnosis or implant location, except for buccal sites.

Summary: This study aimed to analyze patient-reported outcome measures of prosthetic therapy with monolithic implant crowns in completely digital workflows with intraoral optical scanning, compared to conventional workflows with conventional impressions. The study found high levels of patient satisfaction in both digital and conventional protocols for implant rehabilitation of single-tooth gaps in posterior sites, with no significant impact on patient satisfaction based on the restorative material used. Long-term follow-up is needed for more specific conclusions on patient satisfaction with the restorations.

Summary: The study evaluated the peri-implant tissue changes and esthetic outcomes of cemented and screw-retained crowns of single-tooth implants in the esthetic zone using zirconia abutments. The results showed that the connection system had no influence on peri-implant parameters and esthetics evaluation for medium-term periods (3 and 4 years).

Summary: Concerns have arisen recently about potential deformations and fractures of titanium implants, despite their widespread use in orthopedic and dental surgeries. In a recent clinical case, a titanium implant fractured after successful osseointegration, even without significant trauma or excessive external force. Factors including design flaws, material fatigue, and biomechanical stress during functional loading contribute to such fractures. This raises concerns about the long-term durability and reliability of titanium implants, especially in high-stress areas.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the marginal bone loss (MBL) of narrow-diameter implants with two different surfaces and its correlation with the Pink Esthetic Score (PES). The results showed that narrow-diameter implants exhibited reduced MBL values and stable surrounding tissues after 1 year of follow-up. There was a statistically significant relationship between various implant variables and MBL, but MBL did not seem to influence the esthetic outcome.

Summary: The aim of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes of anterior single maxillary implants placed using conventional or guided implant surgery. The results showed that there were no significant differences between guided surgery and conventional surgery implants in terms of average bone level during the 5-year observation period. However, guided surgery could provide better aesthetic results and soft tissue outcomes, although more long-term studies are needed to confirm this data.

Summary: This study found that the price willingness to pay for a single tooth implant in Malaysia is significantly associated with annual income, and personality traits such as openness, conscientiousness, and agreeableness are negatively correlated with the highest price willingness to pay. In terms of patient education strategies, customization based on patient's personality and income level should be considered to maximize effectiveness for single tooth replacements with dental implants.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the impact of mucoperiosteal flap elevation for single immediate implant placement on buccal hard and soft tissue changes, as well as clinical, aesthetic, and patient-reported outcomes. Five randomized controlled trials were selected, and the results showed that flapless surgery resulted in better preservation of buccal bone and had significant advantages in terms of vertical buccal bone change and pain. However, the reporting of clinical and aesthetic parameters was insufficient, and the clinical relevance of these findings remains unclear.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of panoramic and peri-apical radiographs in diagnosing furcation involvement, and to assess the impact of clinical experience on these diagnostic parameters. Results showed that while panoramic and peri-apical radiographs had low sensitivity in identifying furcation involvement, they had high specificity. Combining radiographs with probing may improve diagnostic accuracy.

Summary: This study investigated the changes in speech, satisfaction with speech, and overall OHRQoL in edentulous patients during and after treatment with maxillary IODs. The results showed that patients treated with maxillary IODs demonstrated improved OHRQoL 3 years after connection of the IOD compared to conventional dentures. However, articulation disorders were still present, indicating the importance of informing patients about possible speech issues.
