Summary: This research examines the attitudes of adolescents towards individuals with disabilities and their level of knowledge about this issue. The study finds that the majority of respondents have basic knowledge about people with disabilities and hold an overall positive attitude towards them. Girls have a statistically better attitude and are more open to discussing individuals with disabilities. However, the attitude still depends on the type of disability.

Summary: In this study, the role of the locus coeruleus (LC) in attention and cognitive control was explored by measuring pupil dilation response. The results demonstrated that task relevance and reward influenced pupil response, highlighting the complex relationship between pupil response and reward, and the inferred role of LC in cognitive control.

Summary: Ross syndrome is a rare disorder of the peripheral autonomic nervous system characterized by tonic pupils with light-near dissociation, segmental anhidrosis, and areflexia. It can cause social embarrassment despite having a benign course. Treatment includes counseling and conservative management.

Summary: This study aims to bridge the gap between rhetoric and practice in pupil voice by exploring how teachers' recognition of pupils' responses can fulfill the needs for voice, space, audience, and influence. Through analyzing teacher conversations in Lesson Study, different scenarios are presented to illustrate how pupil voice is acknowledged and how it contributes to teachers' collaborative learning. The arrangements for pupil voice at the classroom level not only meet the needs for listening to and recognizing students' points of view, but also expand the concept of teachers' professional learning, which is a fortunate coincidence.

Summary: This paper examines the link between the clustering of long-term disadvantaged students within schools and the attainment gap at age 11. The research finds that the segregation of these students has decreased nationally after the introduction of a targeted additional funding scheme, and this reduction is strongly correlated with a decline in the attainment gap at age 11.

Summary: People unconsciously make rapid inferences about others' thoughts and intentions based on their facial movements and pupil size. However, whether this spontaneous mimicry depends on visual awareness of the stimulus and whether it underlies trust decisions is still unknown. This study investigated the modulating effects of visual awareness on the relationship between emotional expressions, mimicry, and trust. Results showed that facial expressions influenced trust decisions consciously, while pupil size influenced trust unconsciously.

Summary: Pupil palsy is a common finding in Miller Fisher syndrome, but its clinical characteristics and differential diagnosis from other diseases are not well-defined. Acute generalized pupil palsy may serve as a key finding for diagnosis of pupil palsy associated with MFS.

Summary: The study revealed that in response to mild heat stress, DS mice displayed significantly blunted correction of body temperature, with less suppression of heart rate and respiration rate compared to WT mice. During exercise stress, DS mice showed a diminished increase in heart rate, followed by an exaggerated HR suppression and HRV elevation during recovery, indicating the presence of autonomic disturbances in DS mice.

Summary: Visual disturbance is a common symptom in Parkinson's disease, and defective pupil light reflex may be associated with autonomic dysfunction. This study investigated differences in PLR parameters between PD patients with and without signs of dysautonomia, as well as healthy controls, showing slower peak constriction velocity in PD compared to healthy controls, especially in the subgroup with orthostatic hypotension. Further research is needed to validate these findings.

Summary: This study combines international literature and analysis of the English National Pupil Database to uncover a relatively high rate of school mobility in England, with differences in mobility related to disadvantage, school phase, ethnic group and SEND status. The data has low predictive power, highlighting the need for further research, policy and practice to better understand individual mobility circumstances.

Summary: ROHHAD syndrome is a rare disease characterized by rapid-onset obesity. However, some patients may develop this syndrome without obesity. This study identified four cases of ROHHAD syndrome without rapid-onset obesity in France. These patients had a median body mass index of 17.4 kg/m(2) and presented signs of autonomic dysfunction and hypothalamic disorders. Sleep apnea syndrome played an important role in the diagnosis. The recognition of this syndrome is crucial for patient prognosis and treatment.

Summary: The study evaluated the acceptability and feasibility of a sport-based intervention in helping students excluded from mainstream education reintegrate. The findings suggest that sport can be an effective means of supporting mentorship and mitigating challenges related to reflection, education, and role model identification. To improve acceptability and feasibility, a robust co-production process, consideration of emotional and health literacy of students, and deliberation of long-term implementation and sustainability factors are necessary.
