Summary: CD40 siRNA therapy shows promise for chronic AR as it significantly attenuated allergic symptoms and Th2-related inflammation and upregulated Foxp3(+) Tregs. CD40 plays a role in tissue remodelling in AR, which can be inhibited by CD40 siRNA application.

Summary: The study found that the peptide Ac2-26 and its derivative AnxA1 regulate the inflammatory response in allergic asthma triggered by house dust mite extract. The peptide Ac2-26 decreased eosinophil infiltration, fibrosis, and mucus exacerbation caused by the allergen challenge and also inhibited airway hyperreactivity and mediator production. These findings suggest that Ac2-26 or similar compounds could be potential therapeutic candidates for allergic asthma treatment.

Summary: Bronchial hyperresponsiveness may be considered as a predictor of cough variant asthma in non-smoking adults with chronic cough, showing a high positive predictive value in this population. Cough severity and cough related quality of life were not related to the severity of bronchial hyperresponsiveness in CVA patients.

Summary: Asthma is a heterogeneous airway disease characterized by airway inflammation and remodeling, affecting more than 300 million people worldwide and posing a significant burden on society. Semaphorin3E, a critical molecule in lung pathophysiology, plays a role in both lung development and homeostasis. Recent studies have demonstrated that the Semaphorin3E-plexinD1 axis is implicated in asthma, impacting inflammatory and structural cells associated with airway inflammation, tissue remodeling, and airway hyperresponsiveness. This review highlights the potential role of the Semaphorin3E-plexinD1 axis as a therapeutic target in airway allergic diseases.

Summary: Autophagy is a crucial self-degradative process in cells that plays a key role in cellular renovation, physiology, and homeostasis. It can be triggered by factors such as starvation, pathogens, and stress, and is important in immune response regulation. Dysregulation of autophagy processes, either impaired or overactive, can contribute to the pathogenesis of various diseases, including infections and cancer.

Summary: This article presents a novel high-temperature heat pump (HTHP) that utilizes low-temperature waste heat. Two-phase compressors and expanders are used, eliminating the need for external electric power. A sensitivity analysis is conducted to determine the optimal operating conditions for a rubber manufacturer and a canning industry. The COP values for the HTHP system are evaluated, with the maximum value being 0.258 for the rubber manufacturer and 0.452 for the canning industry. The economic viability of the HTHP is dependent on achieving certain isentropic efficiencies for the compressors and expanders.

Summary: This recent article highlights the authorship policy of the Korean Journal of Radiology regarding artificial intelligence large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT. It points out that leading academic journals and science organizations have implemented editorial policies to prohibit the inclusion of nonhuman technologies as authors, and some even restrict the use of artificial intelligence-generated text in submitted work. The article also acknowledges the need for improvement in the architecture and code of conduct of ChatGPT before its practical implementation.
