Summary: This article introduces a method of using digital twin technology to build a high-fidelity process model and optimize process plans. By feeding surface inspection data of parts back to the CAPP system and associating it with the digital twin process model, and then using the Poisson reconstruction algorithm for simulation, it is found that the digital twin model can improve simulation accuracy.

Summary: Fisher information is used to quantify the maximum precision of estimating parameters encoded in quantum states using general quantum measurements. However, it does not account for the robustness of quantum estimation schemes against measurement imperfections. This study introduces a new concept of Fisher information measurement noise susceptibility, which quantifies the potential loss of Fisher information due to small measurement disturbances. An explicit formula for this quantity is derived and its usefulness is demonstrated in analyzing quantum estimation schemes such as interferometry and superresolution optical imaging.

Summary: This paper proposes a pipeline for automating the measurement of as-built components using artificial intelligence and computer vision techniques. The pipeline requires a single image obtained with a stereo camera system to measure the sizes of selected objects or as-built components. The proposed solution is suitable for use in measuring the sizes of as-built components in built assets and has the potential to be integrated with building information modelling applications for progress monitoring on construction projects.

Summary: This article presents a method of combining a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor with a mechatronic positioning system to overcome the limited dynamic range of the sensor. By repositioning and reorienting the sensor, it is shown that the setup is capable of directly measuring a highly divergent optical wavefront.

Summary: This paper presents an automated control and path planning method for magnetic microrobots based on computer vision. By using microscopic visual navigation, robust target tracking is achieved through PID-based closed-loop control combined with the Kalman filter, and intelligent obstacle avoidance control can be achieved using the dynamic window algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method performs well in complex environments, enabling precise control of magnetic microrobots to reach the target position.

Summary: Cardiac arrhythmia is a common problem in cardiology, and zebrafish are utilized as a powerful animal model for analyzing heart morphology and rhythm. This study developed an innovative approach using OpenCV to measure heart rate and rhythm in zebrafish larvae, showing good consistency with results validated using ImageJ. The method established in this study can also be applied to other invertebrates for cardiac rhythm measurement.

Summary: This study presented and evaluated a fully automated method for measuring deltoid and rotator cuff elongation, demonstrating higher accuracy in measuring muscle elongations than indicating muscle attachment points. Muscle elongation measurements are insensitive to observed errors on muscle attachment points and can be accurately measured for both complete and partial humeral models, as well as for arthritic shoulder joints. Surgeons can use muscle elongation measurements to refine their surgical plan as muscle elongations are sensitive to implant positioning.

Summary: This study developed a protocol to identify potential transformation pathways for the use of feedstocks from different origins. By analyzing existing knowledge on chemical reactions in large databases, several promising synthetic routes were shortlisted. The reaction of D-glucosamine and pyruvic acid was considered the most interesting pathway to produce pyrrole-2-carboxylic acid (PCA). Optimized synthetic conditions resulted in 50% yield of PCA, with insights gained from temperature variant NMR studies.

Summary: Magnetorheological Finishing (MRF) process is used for advanced surface finishing to provide mirror-like polished surfaces for various applications. However, holes and pockets on the workpiece surface present challenges in achieving a uniform finish. A Feature-based Hybrid MRF Planning System (FHMRF-PS) is developed to deposit paraffin wax in these features before MRF to improve surface quality. The system includes toolpath strategies for deposition and MRF to enhance efficiency, and a case study confirms the effectiveness of the FHMRF-PS.
