Summary: This study found that beta-pinene has hypoglycemic, hypolipidemic, and anti-inflammatory effects. Treatment with beta-pinene reduced blood glucose, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels, and also decreased inflammation. Additionally, the combined use of beta-pinene and glibenclamide enhanced the hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects.

Summary: Two series of twenty benzothiazole amide derivatives were synthesized and screened for their anti-inflammatory activity and gastric ulcerogenicity. Compounds 3h and 6a showed the most potent anti-inflammatory activity with high gastrointestinal tolerability. In vitro selectivity testing demonstrated that compound 6a had the best selectivity index among the investigated compounds.

Summary: The study aimed to isolate and study the anti-inflammatory properties of endophytes from Emilia sonchifolia. In vitro and in vivo experiments confirmed the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethyl acetate extract of bacterial endophytes, particularly strain ES1 (Bacillus subtilis). Gene expression studies also confirmed the reduction in the expression of COX-2 and NfKb genes in the presence of ES1 extract.

Summary: This study validates the use of methotrexate-loaded chitosan nanoparticles in treating Freund's complete adjuvant arthritis in rats. The results suggest that MTX nanoparticles can reduce inflammation, improve oxidative stress, and alleviate pathological changes such as necrosis and cellular infiltration.

Summary: This study investigated the anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive effects of nanoemulsion-based gels containing cinnamon and clove essential oils in an animal model. The results showed significant effects in inhibiting inflammation and pain. These nanogels can be considered as analgesic drugs for treating inflammatory and painful conditions.

Summary: The study found that hyssop herb has anti-inflammatory properties, making it a potential treatment option for inflammatory diseases. The extracts from hyssop herb showed significant inhibition of COX-2 enzyme in in vitro testing and demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects in in vivo testing. Preliminary in silico testing also showed that the organic acids in hyssop herb had better inhibitory activity against COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes compared to common non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Summary: The aim of the study was to synthesize and investigate the dose-dependent anti-inflammatory effect of new thiourea derivatives of naproxen with selected aromatic amines and esters of aromatic amino acids. The in vivo study demonstrated that derivatives of m-anisidine (4) and N-methyl tryptophan methyl ester (7) showed the most potent anti-inflammatory activity four hours after injection of carrageenan, with inhibition percentages of 54.01% and 54.12% respectively. In vitro assays of COX-2 inhibition indicated that none of the compounds tested achieved 50% inhibition at concentrations lower than 100 mu M. On the other hand, the aromatic amine derivatives (1-5) exhibited significant inhibition of 5-LOX, with compound 4 showing the lowest IC50 value of 0.30 mu M. Therefore, compound 4, with its high anti-edematous activity and potent inhibition of 5-LOX, holds promise as a potential anti-inflammatory agent.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of curcumin nanoparticles combined with diclofenac sodium on local edema and oxidative stress parameters in rats. The results showed that curcumin nanoparticles, either alone or in combination with diclofenac sodium, effectively reduced paw edema and exhibited antioxidant effects. Curcumin nanoparticles could be a therapeutic option in acute inflammation, allowing for a reduction in drug dosage and potential limitation of side effects.

Summary: A biodegradable microneedle-based transdermal delivery system was developed for sustained and effective delivery of dexamethasone. The microneedle arrays enhanced the permeation of dexamethasone and showed comparable anti-inflammatory efficacy to intravenous injection. This study suggests that microneedle arrays could be a safe, easy, effective and minimally invasive alternative to current delivery methods for dexamethasone.

Summary: The aim of this study was to identify the risk factors for false positives in high-sensitivity HBsAg quantitative tests and reduce the need for neutralization tests. The results showed that younger age, female sex, lower HBsAg values, and reagent improvement were independent risk factors for false positives. The false-positive rate was highest in the range of 0.005-0.049 IU/mL.
