Uniform Co3O4 microspheres with ordered macroporous structure were synthesized via an easy melt infiltration method. Colloidal silica crystal was used as a hard template and Co-(NO3)(2)center dot 6H(2)O as the precursor. The samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy. A formation mechanism was also proposed.
