Summary: In this study, a series of non-chelated BTD-bridged diruthenium(II) and triruthenium complexes were synthesized and characterized, and their properties in different coordination modes were studied. These complexes exhibited metal-based anisotropic electron paramagnetic resonance and intense low-energy intervalence charge-transfer transitions in the near-infrared region.

Summary: This study strengthens the concept of weakening the N-N bond through electronic excitation and explores the potential of photochemical N-2 activation via alternate N-N pi-photoactivation route using bimetallic end-on mu(2)-eta(1):eta(1)-N-2 bridging dinitrogen complexes.

Summary: A series of complexes with the general formula [(eta(6)-arene)RuCp][PF6] were synthesized, and the reactivity of the arene ring towards intermolecular nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) reaction with cyclic 1,3-diones was studied. Competition experiments revealed the leaving group ability of the aryl halides and nitroarenes, with the order of F >> NO2 > Cl > Br. Rapid photolysis reaction freed the arene rings quantitatively after SNAr reaction (<15 min).

Summary: The ligand PHEHAT presents structural asymmetry that affects the photophysical properties of metal ion chelation, leading to different behaviors in [Ru-II(phen)2)HATPHE](2+) and [Ru-II(phen)(2)PHEHAT](2+). The latter exhibits two bright states, with the lower state being weakly or non-emissive depending on solvent and temperature. Experimental and theoretical analysis is crucial to fully understand this intriguing photophysical behavior.

Summary: Two organometallic ruthenium (II) complexes containing analogs of aminobenzimidazole were synthesized and characterized. Their binding affinity with human serum albumin and cytotoxic potential against cancer cells were evaluated. One of the complexes showed promising cytotoxic properties, indicating its potential as an anticancer therapeutic.

Summary: A series of cyanide-bridged complexes were synthesized and characterized in three different redox states, revealing systematic changes in electronic structure and properties. The metal-to-metal charge transfer in the one-electron oxidation product 2 is attributed to Ru-II and Fe-II -> Fe-III transitions, while that in the two-electron oxidation product 3 is mainly attributed to Ru-II -> Fe-III transitions. Electron delocalization was observed in complexes 2 and 3, with stronger conjugation present in 3.

Summary: A visible light-absorbing chromophore appended with a dipicolinic acid Ln(III) chelator was prepared and complexed with different lanthanide cations to form d-f assemblies. Unexpected decrease in Ln(III) chelate complex stability was observed, leading to the formation of 1:1 Ln(III)-ML complexes instead of desired Ln(ML)(3) complexes. Sensitised NIR emission from Yb-III, Nd-III, and Er-III complexes was observed upon excitation of the Ru-II based metalloligand in the visible region.

Summary: Eta(6)-arene(iodidoaluminato)lanthanoid(II) complexes have been synthesized by reacting aluminum triiodide, corresponding lanthanoid metals, and 1,2-diiodoethane in toluene. These complexes are polymeric and the coordination modes of the lanthanoid(II) atoms vary. Alkaline earth(II) (eta(6)-arene)iodidoaluminate complexes have also been obtained using a similar method. The crystal structures of these complexes have been determined for the first time.

Summary: In this study, a novel tetranuclear copper(I) complex was designed and synthesized, which exhibited intense and long-lived phosphorescence in the solid and solution states. The complex showed strong reducing power in the excited state, as demonstrated by oxidative quenching studies. Additionally, the transient absorption difference spectrum analysis revealed characteristic absorption and intervalence charge-transfer transitions in the complex.

Summary: Rh-(tfb)(biph)(PAr3) is a catalyst for the controlled, stereospecific copolymerization of arylacetylenes, characterized by its slightly distorted square-planar geometry and stability in solution. Computational studies indicated its enhanced p-acidity and binding affinity for phenylacetylene compared to the 2,5-norbornadiene analog.

Summary: The synthesis and X-ray structures of three new [Cp*Ru(η1)-ArCN)(3)]PF6 (Ar = aryl) complexes are reported, which are thermally converted to [Cp*Ru(η6)-ArCN)]PF6 (Ar = aryl) sandwich complexes and subsequently recovered by UV light irradiation. Additionally, trans-selective hydroboration of internal alkynes using the synthesized complexes is disclosed.

Summary: Two new ion-pair complexes were synthesized and their properties and purity were characterized using various analytical techniques. The spectral characteristics and redox behavior of these complexes were examined, and their EPR spectra were found to be different from previously reported analogs. The presence of an unpaired electron was confirmed by DFT calculations.
