Summary: The effect of grain boundary resistance (G(BR)) and grain resistance (G(R)) on the magnetoelectric coupling in multiferroic composite thick films of BiFeO3 (BFO) nanocrystalline powder and poly vinylidene-fluoride (PVDF) polymer is significant. The study shows that grain boundary resistance plays an important role in strengthening the magnetoelectric effect in the BFO-PVDF system, with the BFO50 sample demonstrating promising results for device and sensor applications.

Summary: Li-containing garnet compounds have potential as transparent ceramic dual-mode scintillators, with Li5La3Ta2O12 showing promise due to its properties. This study focused on establishing thermal processing conditions for a sol-gel method and consolidating powders to form high-density ceramics. The experiments showed the presence of two cubic Li5La3Ta2O12 garnet phases with different lattice parameters, indicating a remaining excess of Li in the ceramics.

Summary: This study reports on the influence of terbium-doped nickel ferrite particles on the dielectric and magnetic properties of polymeric nanocomposites. The findings show that adding a certain filler content (x = 0.3) significantly improves the permittivity of the polyvinylidene fluoride matrix. High filler loading decreases the blocking temperature and promotes hard ferrimagnetic characteristics. The low-temperature regions exhibit higher saturation magnetization, retentivity, coercivity, and wider hysteresis loop area. The lightweight Tb-NFO-PVDF nanocomposite film offers superior advantages for electromagnetic shielding applications.

Summary: Nanostructured materials of CoVxFe2-xO4 (0.0 < x < 0.9) were synthesized using the sol-gel autocombustion method. The phase purity and nanocrystalline nature of the materials were confirmed by powder XRD measurements, while the morphology and microstructure were determined by FESEM technique. The crystallite sizes decreased from 30 nm to 8 nm with increasing V content, x, in CoVxFe2-xO4 materials. The lattice parameters also decreased continuously as a function of increasing V content, indicating the incorporation of vanadium in cobalt ferrite. The saturation magnetizations and coercivities of the materials showed a range of values depending on the V content and were influenced by factors such as cation distributions, size, and surface effects.

Summary: TiO2 nanopowders modified by Nd and Sm were prepared using the sol-gel technique. Samples containing Sm were amorphous up to 300 degrees C, while those with Nd preserved a mixed organic-inorganic amorphous structure at higher temperatures. Samples heated at 500 degrees Celsius showed photocatalytic activity under UV irradiation and exhibited good antimicrobial activity against E. coli K12 and B. subtilis.

Summary: La-Ag doped BiFeO3 nanoparticles were synthesized and their structural, morphological, magnetic, optical, and microwave absorption properties were investigated. The samples exhibited a perovskite rhombohedral structure along with a dilute phase of Bi2Fe4O9. The optical band gap decreased for La-Ag doped BFO compared to pure BFO. The crystals had an irregular shape and size. The vibrating sample magnetometer revealed increased magnetization and coercivity for La-Ag doped BFO. La-Ag doped BFO also showed improved electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness.

Summary: Eco-friendly stable ZnO nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using citrus limon as a chelating agent. The structural and optical properties of the nanoparticles were studied at different annealing temperatures. The results showed that the particle size increased due to agglomeration or Ostwald ripening at high temperature, and the crystallite size and bandgap also increased slightly. The emission peaks of the nanoparticles were analyzed and attributed to the near band edge emission and the transition of electrons from traps to the valence band.

Summary: This study reports the dielectric and magnetocaloric effects in flexible Neodymium-doped nickel ferrite polyvinyl-alcohol nanocomposite films. The composite exhibits enhanced dielectric permittivity at a specific filler concentration, while the magnetic entropy change decreases with higher doping in the polymer chain. The magnetodielectric coefficient is enhanced at higher frequencies and with increased doping concentration. Additionally, the observed skin depth of the polymer nanocomposite is lower than the film's thickness, making it suitable for electromagnetic shielding.

Summary: In this study, [Ni0.4Cu0.2Zn0.4](Fe2-xDyx)O-4 spinel ferrite nanoparticles with different Dy3+ concentrations were synthesized using a citrate sol-gel auto-combustion technique. It was found that an increase in Dy3+ concentration led to changes in crystal structure parameters and slight alterations in particle size and specific surface area. Dy3+ ions preferentially occupied the octahedral B site due to their larger ionic radius, affecting the electrical and magnetic properties of the nanoparticles. Changes in microwave properties and electromagnetic absorption were attributed to the microstructure characteristics and the presence of dysprosium-oxygen-iron indirect exchange.
