Summary: This study investigated the role of hepatic glucuronyl C5-epimerase (Glce) in obesity development. It found that hepatic Glce deficiency facilitates obesity progression and reduces secretion of growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF15), disrupting lipid homeostasis.

Summary: The study suggests that a defect in the key enzyme glucuronyl C5-epimerase (Hsepi) involved in heparan sulfate biosynthesis may lead to lung developmental failure in mice. Despite no significant morphological differences before E16.5, mutant animals show abnormal lung structure at E17.5-18.5, with impaired AT1 cell differentiation possibly associated with reduced lung vascularization.

Summary: The translation explores the role of Heparan sulfate (HS) in protein recognition and interaction, highlighting the importance of specific sulfation and epimerization patterns modulated by Golgi-localized enzymes. The study investigates the effects of restoring Hsepi in mutant MEF cells, showing increased IdoA residues and rescued cell signaling, although Hsepi knockout did not influence cellular transport or enzymatic activity of 2OST. These findings suggest potential differences in regulatory mechanisms for 2OST and Hsepi.

Summary: DS-epi1 catalyzes a key step in the biosynthesis of the glycosaminoglycan dermatan sulfate, and a novel mechanism involving a His/double-Tyr motif has been proposed based on structural and docking studies. The high structural similarity of DS-epi1 to bacterial polysaccharide lyases suggests its importance in various diseases, and its structure provides a starting point for designing active site inhibitors.

Summary: Oxidative stress is linked to neoplasia, but antioxidants can help prevent it. In this study, the cytotoxic effect of BRCE from Haloferax mediterranei on breast cancer cell lines was evaluated. The results showed that BRCE selectively affected breast cancer cells, particularly triple-negative subtypes, and also had an impact on cell size.

Summary: Breast cancer is a global health issue with rising incidence. Disruption of the internal circadian clock, including the genetic dysregulation of Cry2, can contribute to the development of diseases, such as tumors. This study focuses on understanding the post-translational modifications of Cry2 and its role in breast cancer pathogenesis.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the impact of zein nanosphere formulation on the pharmacotherapeutic profile of PTS in MCF7 cells. The findings demonstrated that PTS-ZN NS formulation exhibited enhanced antiproliferative, proapoptotic, and oxidant potential towards MCF7 cells, indicating improved outcomes compared to free PTS. This enhancement was attributed to the nanosized carriers, increased cellular uptake, and sustained diffusion of the formulations.

Summary: This study found that Clinacanthus nutans dichloromethane fraction (SF2) extract can induce apoptosis in MCF7 cells through both intrinsic and extrinsic pathways. SF2 extract significantly inhibited MCF7 cell proliferation and upregulated the expression of P53, BAX, BID, caspase-8, caspase-9, and caspase-3, while downregulating the expression of BCL2. This suggests that SF2 extract has the potential to be effective against breast cancer.

Summary: The study aimed to obtain an enzymatic hydrolysate of rapeseed protein that inhibits proliferation of breast cancer cells, while not affecting healthy human fibroblast cells. One of the hydrolysates showed anti-proliferative activity on MCF-7 cells, with a composition mainly consisting of 10 kDa peptides. This particular hydrolysate, DH1, has the potential to be a promising peptide extract for future research as a possible anti-breast cancer agent.

Summary: In this study, the effects of hypocholesterolemia and hypercholesterolemia on different types of human breast cancer cells were investigated. It was found that hypocholesterolemia inhibited cell growth and promoted the expression of certain genes, while hypercholesterolemia reversed these effects. Therefore, it is suggested that cholesterol levels should be controlled in hormone receptor-positive breast cancer.

Summary: Banana flesh has been found to possess antioxidant and anticancer potential, which can reduce the risk of cancer. Hexane extract (HE) has the highest content of polyphenols and flavonoids in banana flesh, showing strong scavenging activity against free radicals. Moreover, banana flesh extracts exhibit inhibitory effects on cell growth and induce apoptosis in pancreatic cancer and triple-negative breast cancer cells. GC-MS analysis also identifies several anticancer compounds in banana flesh extracts.

Summary: This study demonstrated the successful synthesis of greenly synthesized iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) from Spinacia oleracea leaf extract, coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) and conjugated with doxorubicin (DOX). The combination of PEGylation and DOX conjugation significantly improved the cytotoxic activity of IONPs on triple-negative breast cancer.
