Summary: The study revealed that Cryptosporidium infection caused significant alterations in circRNA expression profiles in host cells, with the upregulated circRNA ciRS-7 promoting C. parvum propagation by regulating the miR-1270/relA axis and affecting the NF-κB pathway. This study provides a novel perspective on the role of circRNA in Cryptosporidium infection and offers insights for implementing control strategies.

Summary: MicroRNAs miR-15a-5p and miR-199a-3p are significantly decreased in aortic and carotid samples from atherosclerosis patients and mice. Overexpression of these miRNAs can reduce inflammation and progression of atherosclerosis. MiR-15a-5p may serve as a novel diagnostic biomarker for advanced atherosclerosis.

Summary: In this study, it was found that the AP1 transcription factor recruits p300 histone acetyltransferase and CtBP1 to form the CtBP1-p300-AP1 complex, which transactivates hsa-miR-7-5p expression in ARDS biopsies. Hsa-miR-7-5p targets ATXN1 to trigger an NF-kappa B-dependent inflammatory response. Interfering with the CtBP1-p300-AP1 signaling pathway may be a potential strategy for treating ARDS.

Summary: The study identified miR-214-3p as a key regulator in osteoarthritis, impacting ECM metabolism and cell apoptosis in cartilage by modulating the NF-kappa B signaling pathway. Targeting IKKP, decreased miR-214-3p exacerbates OA development, suggesting it as a potential novel therapeutic target for OA.

Summary: This study elucidated the role of MLPH in GBM radiation resistance, showing that MLPH promotes radiotherapy resistance by regulating the NF-kappa B pathway. Additionally, O-GlcNAcylation of MLPH protects it from degradation and stabilizes its presence in cells. These findings provide insights into a potential mechanism of GBM radiation resistance and suggest a therapeutic strategy for GBM treatment.

Summary: Our research demonstrated that in osteoarthritis, activated human chondrocytes (AC) show elevated expression of NF kappa B, TNF-alpha, IL-6, and miR-21 compared to healthy chondrocytes (HC). AC induced apoptosis in HC and inhibited the expression of chondrogenesis inducers. The study revealed the role of the NF kappa B/miR-21 axis in OA progression, and the therapeutic potential of SC75741 as an inhibitor of miR-21/NF kappa B-driven OA progression.

Summary: Inflammaging is a key concept in understanding how aging contributes to the development of age-related diseases, with a focus on the role of miRNAs in regulating inflammatory pathways. The assessment of individual genetic make-up alone is insufficient to depict the trajectories of age-related inflammation, and studies have shown that circulating inflammamiRs could be used to measure the degree of inflammaging.

Summary: The study revealed that miR-125b expression is up-regulated in NAFLD patients, along with increased levels of inflammatory-related genes in the liver. MiR-125b promotes NF-kappa B-mediated inflammatory responses by directly targeting TNFAIP3, suggesting it as a potential target for treating NAFLD.

Summary: Developmental growth is a complex process that involves the coordinated regulation of gene expression. This study identifies miR-202-3p as a key factor in determining embryonic fate during the mid-blastula transition (MBT) in zebrafish. miR-202-3p regulates the expression of a trio of genes involved in cell proliferation and survival, and is crucial for embryonic viability and development during MBT.
