Summary: The self-collection cervical screening pathway has been well-received by both screening participants and primary care practitioners. However, there are discrepancies in acceptability based on HPV test results and interpretations of guidelines. Practitioners play a key role in driving the use of the self-collection pathway, but face barriers in promoting it to eligible participants.

Summary: Artificial intelligence has the potential to accurately classify mammograms and replace or supplement radiologists in breast cancer screening. Evaluations of AI systems by the UK National Screening Committee focus on maximizing benefits and minimizing harms to women. Additional information on the spectrum of disease detected and interval cancers is crucial for understanding the benefits and harms of screening.

Summary: Energy system optimization models are commonly used to assist in long-term investment decision-making. Existing models primarily focus on cost modeling of the technical subsystem, while neglecting the indirect costs associated with the social subsystem. This paper introduces indirect costs into the model, including those related to generation capacity, energy production, and bilateral trades. Through a case study of the Dutch power system, it is shown that incorporating indirect costs significantly alters optimal investment capacities and associated costs compared to traditional models. Furthermore, the model is used to address a potential free-rider problem and help achieve socially acceptable investment plans.

Summary: This study evaluated the new cervical cancer screening program in Germany for the detection of high-grade cervical cancer precursor lesions and explored the potential impact of the cervico-vaginal microbiome on cervical dysplasia. The results showed a low rate of additional CIN III detected with the new screening program and confirmed the association between Ureaplasma parvum infection and histological abnormalities.

Summary: Mammography screening is effective in reducing the risk of BC-specific death in Asian women across all cancer stages. However, this effect is relatively small among women in their 40s, suggesting the need for more detailed and specialized screening strategies for that age group.

Summary: This study found significant regional differences in TNBC incidence among NHB women in the US, with lower rates in the Northeast, higher rates in the Midwest, and similar rates in the West. These regional disparities may be explained by genetic admixture among people with different geographic ancestral origins. It highlights the importance of extending research and prevention efforts to women at high risk of this disease to reduce cancer disparities.

Summary: Breast cancer accounts for 30% of all cancers diagnosed in women. From 1999 to 2018, the incidence of breast cancer among women aged 20 years and older showed a decreasing trend, with the highest decrease seen from 1999 to 2004 and a slight increase from 2004 to 2018. The incidence increased among non-Hispanic Pacific Islander women and women aged 20-39 years, while it decreased among non-Hispanic White women and women aged 50-64 and 75 years and older. In terms of public health practice, biennial mammography screening is currently recommended for women aged 50-74 years, and women aged 20-49 years may benefit from discussing potential breast cancer risk and ways to reduce risk with their healthcare providers.
